I had a girl at the gas station ask me if " that was the company that started all the sportbike stuff... like Ninjas and stuff" (really... how do you answer that kind of question) I just nicely explained the history of Buell and what they are all about; neither she nor her boyfriend understood a friggin' thing I said. sad |

The best way is to hand them the keys. I find that they usually get obsessed and buy one within a few months. Of course you need to know who you can trust not to mold your bike around a tree... |

Until you ride one, you can't possibly understand...I didn't, but thought I did. I was gonna try and talk the former owner down from his asking price until I rode the thing. I just gave him his money in case he tried to change his mind. |

Ah-yep I was up in down east Maine a few summers back, just a toolin' 'round and past I two youngins on bicycles (most likely on their way to the country store, don't ya know) and one yells out at me "BUY A HARLEY". So I cracked the throttle and stood the bike up and, laughed as they covered their ears. |

I had the opposite happen to me in Quebec a few years back! My motel was in "the old city" and just after dawn I started up my bike, in this case my '79 XLH. Those cobblestone streets+stone buildings allowed for a LOT of racket on startup. I heard some guy scream out a window: "GET A JAP BIKE!!" |

I had some one ask me if the Buell was a "concept bike", Nope, production x1 with a few bolt on tweeks, this was followed by a glassy eyed stair and a murmered "no-way" |

Had a small boy, (6-9 age), see me with my helmet in the check out lane and he asked me if I had a motorcycle. I told him yes. He then asked me if it was a fast motorcycle or a loud one. |

How funny! An eight year old boy summed-up the basic American motorcycle market in one simple question |

I went riding with some sportbikes last weekend. All the import guys complained that it was too loud...the two other Buell guys of course loved the sound. |

I posted earlier on the "quick board" but that was on another subject. I went riding in SW Wisconsin Fri and Sat (before the rain came). I ride a silver 00 S3T. The bike was the center of attention almost everywhere I stopped. Comments like "I've never seen one of them before" or "I've seen Buells but I didn't know they made one like that". A whole lot of "Nice Bike". One guy even asked me if it was an "escort bike" ?????? What the hell is that ???? The bottom line is that ..... It still turns heads and is appreciated for it's design. I appreciate the comfort and handling. 300 mi on the hilly, twisty, curvy roads of SW WI. Traffic is light, roads are good and people are friendly. If you've never done it ..... I highly recommend it !!!! |

...out riding the S1W one day sitting at a light, shakin' and rumblin', waiting for the green and the gentleman next to me asked what it was then commented something to the effect "that's all motor hanging in a bicycle frame and two wheels" ...astute observation, priceless. |

Stopped at a car dealer today to check out a car. Parked by the building and walked to the car. I had to wait about 6-7 minutes as the employees at the lot gathered around my bike. When a someone did come over to me, we ended up talking more about the Buell then the car for sale. |

Apparently, with the old girl's help, the old guy can still turn heads too. After a rather nice dinner, I spent most of the evening on the S3T with a young lady 15 years my junior. And yes, she's over 18. |
