I just installed a K&N Force Winder Intake on the M2 and took it out for a test ride. It definetly picked up power but I notice that at high RPM full throttle runs the bike was pinging ever so slightly. I would back off the thottle to say 3/4 throttle and it would quit. Is that a sign of the bike running lean? Back Ground information: It was very hot, 100°F with high humidity. Heat Index was 115°F. Also the bike presently has a 200 main jet with a 48 pilot jet. |

Pinging can be caused by a lean mixture. It can also be caused by carbon deposits, leaky valve guide seals, low octane gas, hot running, too hot a plug, and others. It's caused by the cylinder firing due to compression instead of spark plug firing. |
