Don't sweat it Oldog. I've got the s3t bars on my X1 and they don't look bad. I have considered swapping them out for the stock bars though. My problem is that my bike has had the s3t bars on it since I bought it. I've never ridden any other X1's with the stock bars. I have no idea whether that is an improvement over stock or if I'd be better off with the stock bars. I'm going to try to buy a cheap set of stock bars if I can find a set and try them out. I just seem to want a little lower bars when I'm cranking through the twisties. Guess it is a trade off of comfort vs performance. I might end up sticking with the s3t bars also. Who knows... Good luck |

Rex or anyone know if the stock X1 or M2 bars (I think they are the same) will are any wider than the s3t bars? That is something I've been wondering about since I don't have the stock bars. |

don't limit yourself to buell bars- try a few aftermarket bars out. |

The stock M2 bars are wider. I changed to the S3T bars on my M2 and that was the first thing I noticed. I find it is a little more comefortable when riding two up since the wife isn't leaning on me as much, but for riding by myself I find the S3T bars make me sit up straighter causeing the wind to pull my body harder on the freeway. Also, my mirrors are less effective since they moved in with the bars. |

Yeah, I know, but I just don't like the looks of them... (damn poser in me...) The mirrors I do have match the bike good, but the stalks need to be 1 inch longer. |

poser nothing- taste is taste, you gotta be happy with it, and the OE style are more effective and correct.... |

from what i understand. m2 bars vrs. s3t bars. s3t bars are an inch higher and an inch narrower. therefore the cables still work fine. rex |

I moved my throttle cables to the right side of the neck. They may have still worked on the left side, but I didn't want to chance it. |

Suggestion...Check out the dimensions on the new XB12X bars. They claim to be wider and they look to be taller. Me, I am just waiting with tape measure in hand to see how they compare to the 6" rise Triumph style aftermarket bars I have on. Incidentally, check out the High Dirt Track bars at www.afamusa.com . I have been lusting over those for over a year but tried the Triumph style bars first. They feel great in all riding positions but have a tad too much pullback for my taste. |

Also, just FYI when looking for the s3t bars. The Blast bars are identical. My wife has a Blast and her bars are exactly the same as the S3t bars when sitting side by side with my X1 with the s3t bars on it. |

it's ignorant to limit yourself to buell bars. we all have different physiogomy which one brand's bars don't neccesarily work well with. try many different aftermarket styles at a retailer, don't just blindly buy buell bars based on board advice |
