And yet the new buells require a very expensive service. And countless trips to the dealer to get codes checked and cleared. Troubleshooting faulty sensors. Resitting the TPS and AFV. Looks like somebody forgot where they came from. | ||

Since when did a $30 TPS reset that took 10 minutes become an expensive service? The rest of the work you can pretty much do yourself. | ||

"Since when did a $30 TPS reset that took 10 minutes become an expensive service?" Since for ever - I can't think of another bike that this has to be taken to the dealer for. Suzuki (ie SV1000) simply has 3 bars on the LCD dash that you adjust to the center bar in diagnostic mode (a jumper). Honda, BMW, etc simply have the TPS movable (mounting screw holes are slotted) and it is adjusted for a specific voltage. While I love my X1, ANYTHING I have to take it to the dealer for irks me. | ||

30.00 and 10 minutes is not bad at all. HOWEVER. 30.00 each and every time can add up quickly 30,60,90 etc. If the tech didn't do the job correctly the first time. If you payed for a TPS adjustment and the problem wasn't fixed. If the dealership is more like 30-45 minutes away and then you have to wait for the buell tech. | ||

John: It would be nice IF there was a tps zero mode,you could activate with out special gear. It would be better if the efi unit could signal "ZERO" vs hoping that your vom is accurate Wes: What about the techno research software? were your issues dealt with? | ||

really buy the techno software for 300 bucks and be free of the dealer | ||

or just buy a Mukuni carb --- which is what I did to my X1. Never again will I chase sensors and wires. Nor will I need some crap like powercommander to adjust air/fuel ratio. |
