I was just wondering if someone could help me with something. I just took my S3T out today for the 1st time this season and everything seemed to run ok with the exception of the front break. I used to be able to put 2 fingers on the lever to apply a little brake but now I have to put all four on the lever to apply the brake. Proper riding states that I should put all 4 fingers on the lever when braking but it just seems that the cable has stretched or something. Definitely something is out of wack and I need a slight adjustment. Any ideas? | ||

no cable to streech, if your sled has a stock brake, J -- get the puppy bled, and good! (or, do it yourself!) -- no adjustment possible with Hydro brakes, just get the air and water outa there, and you'll be right as rain, as the man sez! | ||

side note: hydraulic housings can flex and expand at times, sort of the liquid equivalent of cable stretch, which is different than chain stretch which is actually chain wear. Could be his pistons stuck some after sitting for the winter. Okay, I'll back back into the bushes at the edge of the field again and disappear into the foliage as best I can.... | ||

For clarity's sake, is the brake working? Will it stop the bike? If the brake is working, Bomber is giving you thumbs up for annual spring maintenance ritual...what the heck, just remove the whole caliper, clean it inside and out and re-assemble and bleed it just for safety's sake. Accumulated moisture and air, no matter how minute will occupy space and cause problems.... | ||
