Benny, The orange M2 has heat wrap tape around the pipes. It keeps the leg a little cooler, supposed to add HP, and hides the flat spot and scrapes. |

BuellieDan: This is the only aluminum race tank I've seen made for the X1. It's contoured much like the stock tank. I'm quite sure most of the Pro Thunder X1 based machines are using modified S1 tanks. The front half of the X1 frame has a very similar contour as the S1. It doesn't look like it would require too much modification to make it work. As you can see the frame rails extend outside of the back of the tank a little where it tapers to a point on the previous picture. It looks like all that's needed there is a cross brace to bolt the tank retention plates. As far as mounting the fuel pump...I'm sure it can be done...though I'm not quite sure how...yet. Raymaines: I have that header wrap on my S1 for the exact same purposes. |

Buellinbenny, I believe that the main problem with fitment, is the seat. Try calling Dave King @ Manchester HD= 1 800 cycle 93. He should be able to give you definate answers, or atleast guide you a bit. Jony |

Buellinbenny, I found the info here: The X1 Files...which is one of the most informative Buell webpages I've seen. The link corresponding to that tank doesn't seem to be working, though. Eeeeek, That bike has a sweet countershaft cover too, among other things. That tank and tail is a vast improvement over the stock bodywork. It's just as pretty as an S1W. |

Buellinbenny, that would be New Manch. ('ere in the States) The mirrors are from a company called SkyKing (http://www.skykingproducts.com/), they're outta California. They're made of solid billet allm, and the mirror itself is rubber mounted, so it doesnt vibrate. As far as the view, it's good once you get used to it. Kinda wall-eyed, and a little deceptive about distance...(objects are closer then they appear) Nothing too bad, just takes getting used to. Their biggest downfall is their price.. You can buy a few sets of bicycle mirrors for the price per mirror. Jony |

For anybody who has put carbon tank accent panels on their x1 here's a solution to the "where and what kind" of horn should I use problem. This is a stock horn off a Buell Blast and costs about 8 bucks. It bolts right on and plugs in, comes with the mounting bracket attached and when installed does not stick out past the frame. Also it is pretty loud for its size. Just an FYI: |
