Eisanmann, that would look much better on my old scoot.

Sporty Eric asks me to post a couple pictures of his bike. He thinks the story he's telling in the Tail Section of the main page needs the pictoral accompaniment.

I'm glad to post the pictures but I'm here to tell you that the story he's telling about the SPLASH ride is great reading with or without pictures. Check it out.

Many thanks, Ray. By the time I figure out all this computer sh*t, the bank will probably let me buy the new new Buell I so crave. In the meantime, I'll have to make do with five year old technology, fifteen year old styling, and thirty year old suspension. Gives me an excuse to not be leading the pack. My ego won't allow me to attribute that to lack of skill. Best to blame the equipment. (I'd still like to go for a ride with Eeeeek, though. Kick his over-stressed ass!)
The details, if anyone cares, in order of appearance:
3" K&N Buell race kit on a home-made backing plate
Yost Power tubed Keihin, 195 main (I think)
Casting ridges and humps Dremelled smooth on the manifold. (I think there's a lot of room for improvement on the stock casting, not to mention new schools of thought on internal fins, etc.)
S1 heads, also Dremelled at seats and (a little) at the ports, with deck height adjusted to .028 for a .5 compression bump and a better burn.
S1 cams
Vance and Hines exhaust, of course.(That gets a laugh with the Ninja set I sometimes ride with. Vance and Hines makes a pipe for Harleys! uhuh! uhuh! uhuh!(hillbilly chuckle)
Fisher harmonic balancer(Went on at the same time as all the rest, so I have no opinion on it. I'm going to take it out this winter when I replace the clutch, just to see.)
Progressive Suspension shocks,rear, and springs,front
Crossroads fork brace(Their clip-ons are next on the wish list)
Brembo four piston on floating cast rotor(Ducati Elephante derived)(Adapter from the now defunct(?) Slater Bros. of Spokane(?)
Home made rear-sets(milled on a drill press, inspired by Stortz(right side), Benke(left), and riding bud, Jim,(both)
Fairing from Ness (the only thing of his I've ever liked)
Chin spoiler hand made of aluminum and welded by a buddy(Terry),Hides the K&N breather filter).
Mass centralization and suspension assist by Thighs Like Oak Trees.
Well, saplings. That's why I need a Buell. This is a way physically exhaausting ride at your velocities!

The other bike pictured is the donor bike for my heads and cams and ignition, etc. My main riding buddy built it, unassisted by any (mechanical) shop work, as is mine.) He's posted some pictures before but it's shown again to add relevance to the posting. The details, in brief:
3" K&N, don't remember the air box supplier(this is an unauthorized build sheet)
Branch heads, dual plugged
TRW 30 degree pistons
565(?) Redshift cams
JIMS lifters(Stock ones will disintegrate quickly with high lift and high spring pressure. Ask me for details!(Needle bearings everywhere! Be afraid. Be very afraid!
Vance & Hines
Hand made oil tank (aluminum)
Spondon swingarm
Best detail: passenger pegs removed (frame re-powder-coated) with a cut off pushrod welded to the kickstand for a stopper.(Sh*t. Wrong side! One more picture, Ray?)
Carbon fibre bodywork with the pinstriping in holographic(?) paint.

It is an extraordinary ride.
