Thanks Buggie. I'm thinking about taking the pin-striping to create that race stripe look down the middle. I have to see how much I have left. I added some to my helmet also. |

The solid stripe down the center is nice, but I don't care for the pinstripe on the tail. I'd like to see it with either dual parallel stripes down the center or one big wide stripe like the one in Buggie's post. Where did you find the reflective tape? How closely does it match the gold on the wheels and tank decals? Mike L. '04 XB12R Firebolt '94 FMII Turbo Miata (for sale) |

You are right on the red...red exhaust on the above black bike would be coooool....would give that extra pop, with the wheels.....rex |

Spike, purchased my reflective tape through this link: Reflective Decals Forgot, the reflective gold tape matches the gold colors in the logo pretty good. edited by Southernmarine on May 19, 2004 |

Here's a pic of my X1 at night after I added a few lights. Hopefully the police will like them as much as I do. Let me know what you think. I know some people don't like the look, but I really wanted the X1 to stand out at night. Who knows, maybe it will keep me from getting side-swiped. I thought that reflective tape on the previous bike looked awesome! GREAT IDEA |

I have been looking at adding LED's tomy bike also. I thought about mounting one inbetween the sshock and the muffler to light up the bottom of the bike. Teenc, you did a nice job ou yours, I like the two different colors. |

Teenc. Good job. Most of the time you see LED jobs way overdone. Your's looks very well done. Just the right placement and number of lights. Will make the bike more visible for sure. Mike. |

Me and mine, last year. Still pretty stock but not for long. Drummer etc on order for starters. Maybe have to cool it after that coz the other half is currently going through her bike training, so looks like I'll be buying another bike. If I can get off with buying her a VFR or CBR 400 I could use it as a track bike also. Mmmmm. |

Gaz. Are those Kellerman billet indicators/signals? How do you like them? Are they bright? Thanks. Mike. |

Yeh, don't know where I'll mount it when I get the bike for the other half. Rear foot peg hangers are coming off then. really cleans up the back of the bike I think. Xb9er Can't remember who makes the billet indicators but when it's sunny out you can hardly see the indicators. Gonna see if I can fit LED's inside. Got them from www.xs-parts.co.uk see next post for pic. Teenc Looks good, I'd like to do something similar but the Cops would have a hairy fit if they saw anyone showing blue lights. edited by gaz on June 22, 2004 edited by gaz on June 22, 2004 |

I think that's the muffler. It looks all weird just hanging out there in the open like that. |

The bike has a slightly mysterious history - it was apparently bought just as a "track day bike", but was hardly used. I think the guy who owned it either didn't have enough time or he scared himself after a few minor falls - he traded the bike for a new V-Rod. Anyway, the bike definitely has low miles, but a few things were loose from putting the road gear back on - the gear lever tried to "exit, stage left", and the ET sensor connection was loose which caused it to miss intermittently. Minor stuff really, but all fixed yesterday. Rode it to work this morning, pulls like a steam train! Fantastic city bike, itching to get into the hills this weekend. Does anyone have pics of there X1 White Lightnings? I'm looking for ideas...
