Craig, hope you didn't brake anything. Your bike showed a lot of pride. I would bet you are looking for its replacement as I speak.

That's why I have to force myself to stay away from track days. I can't afford what might (and probably WOULD) happen.

Even with the mishap, it was a great day! When I think back of the day I dont think of it as being bad, track time is just too much fun.

I'm itchin to get back out there, just need a bike to go on.

The only thing I feel bad about is that I finally got it set up the way I wanted it. Oh, well.

For those of you with XB's and worrying about becoming mainstream, check out this picture from a Samsung ad from a techie magazine I receive at work.

Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony of an Asian guy riding an American motorcycle? Just making an observation here, not trying to everyone off that I haven't already...

For those of you who thought the fur covered Buell was a photoshop excercise, check out the following pictures. A colleague of mine was in Berlin for work and brought me back the Juli (July) issue of Fighters Magazin.

Sorry for the glare but they are digital pictures of the magazine. As I was resizing the pictures I made notice of how similar her bike is to the new for 2005 Buell...I guess Germany was good enough for testing the V-Rod, so why not test Buell's over there? If it were the case it would give me even more to look forward about my next trip over there.

Wow. She is not just doing dog an pony shows with that thing, she is doing enduro races on it!

Here is the very painful computer translation for a page linked from the above site.

Thus the thing was like that: On the first day of the Prologs I was quasi distance look at. I was nervously, too many humans to our conditions had come and to me had said that that could not be done everything that I would not see the goal and that one does not make such a thing with a road motorcycle simply. "Das goes nie!" The routing had indeed a few surprises ready, particularly the first pointed turn directly after the start. There one is so correct straight at the acceleration, and already one must close, because in the runway an earth barrier opens itself there in the middle! But hello! My low starting number 80 had the advantage that I with comparatively few grooves are annoyed had must, in addition, had the enormous disadvantage that I appeared between louder correctly fast drivers and world champions. Clearly me with their Enduros overhauled, and that was not madly merry, because the distance was dust drying and I from the dust wall no more do not rausgekommen am. Up, gas too, with the Buell in the blind flight one has gas simply more respect than with a Enduro. Already pushes bisserl to the equipment, nevertheless 175 Kilos and 101 HP have. Grip was to be found despite the Pirelli MT 60 on the loose underground also none, acceleration was possible so correctly in the curves only with female fine feeling, on the straight lines lay the top speed for it however with approximately 120 kilometers per hour. The rear wheel went back and forth, but a steering damper is a fine The sponsors & friends: www.hagenmotorsport.de Steering wheel www.bkg motorradzubehoer.de Fork bridges www.lsl motorradtechnik.de Steering damper and Crashballs www.goetz motorsport.de Clothing www.faber.at Clothing www.peter stuecker.de Helmet lacquer finish www.viecher.com The skin! www.pirelli.de Tire www.hillbilly motors.de The address for Buell changes www.buell.de Buell The Fahrerin: Dr. Karin Mairitsch Support: Michael Hueby The book: http://pinkandblue.net The motorcycle: Buell XB 12 S Lightning Thing. Above at the summit more waer I straight correctly drauf been, in order to drive and say equivalent again down, now however into genuine, but unfortunately, that is the ore mountain, there must one up to the next day wait. The summary of the first daily: Fall-freely (and that was the most important!), and with a time of 0.15.03,44 I was in the road valuation at place 5, under louder stollenbereiften self-'s buildings. That was genuine for a walking travel correct. On Saturday, the second day of the Prologs, was everything different. The rain had not only transformed the runway from the underground: Because of dense fog in the top of the mountain the distance had to be shortened, that technically more fastidious second part of running was thus gecancelt. Unfortunate actually, the straight close turns would against have come the Buell and their short wheel base. But no matter, I was high-motivated, knew the motorcycle and the distance now a little better, me the previous evening with the beer had held back and was not also more as nervous as on Friday. The Grip had improved clearly, on the straight lines had I powerfully fun, the engine pushed to that it a joy was, the close passage with the Faherlager took I in standing, by the puddles went through it crosswise by and with open gas , the Gischt squirted and for the mud packing felt I me so correctly probably. The curves I drove approximately (bisserl it was not already, stollenreifen bad choice would have been slippery, but it does not give in the dimension of the Buell), and on the straight lines let I it run and needed a course more than at the vortag - the peak value was probably in such a way with 150 km/h. In the goal I had arrived very lucky, felt my lower arms and had completely badly the need to talk. That was good everything. The time, then I experienced in the evening, was about 0.08.21,43, and unterm line for the sixth place in the road valuation was enough. Result: Everything goes. I up-came with the Buell XB 12 S Lighting fall-free the ore mountain, had quantity a fun thereby, and which may do time as respectable is designated. The motorcycle does not have any wounds apart from a small depression in the final pot abbekommen, and the depression also only that because of passed, because I ignored a bump in the dust flag of the preceding endorser. The pluesch protected the lacquer falling rocks - thanks to "Viecher". Quod guess demonstrandum. Many dear greetings, Karin Mairitsch [ PICTURES GALLERY ]

Well..., I was born in Korea and I ride an M2. I think it's more ironic that Americans ride Japanese motorcycles.

I don't really see an irony in it. the Europeans love the Buell, matter of fact more buells are sold overseas than in the states. I have two friends who recently moved here from Japan and they are surprised more americans don't ride Buells.

Shoot, I like riding in the rain. I just don't treat my bike like a primadonna. It gets dirty, i beat the hell out of it. I have even rode in the snow on my buell. It is actually kind of cool, like mud riding, but colder. Almost 10,000 miles on my x-1 with no problems other than a leaking rocker box gasket. I ride wheelies, wash it occasionaly and treat it just as bad as every other bike I've owned.

I didn't get to 23000 miles in 15 months only riding in the fair weather. No snow though, don't see it that much down here, but when we do it's usually just mush and ice.

Nice S3T. That is actually what I wanted before I bought my x-1. I would post a pic of the X-1, but I'm fairly computer dumb and can't figure out how to resize the pic. Happy with my X-1 anyhow.
