Note the pic of my bike in front of the mansion about a week ago, broken front exhaust strap! I did about 500 miles since that pic was taken before I noticed the broken strap... |

The stator cover is Pontiac blue engine paint. Left over from the old 70 1/2 400 formula bird, just for the heck of it I guess! I plan to do some polishing soon |

Thanks, Some guy from Canada was selling a custom that he made from a race can. price was good and so was the work. I would not use it on a track, but I like the sound of it. |

My 2004 XB12R with around 22,000 miles on it. The new stator & VR being tested during a 1,000 mile weekend road trip. The cycle behind mine is a Suzuki B King.

Thanks. As much as I like the all black look, white wheels do look cool, and I might eventually do it, but I would hate cleaning them! (it is a Photoshop if you didn't know) |

Hey Coops53233, I live in Northern Virginia and I would love to take a trip like that. I noticed you are in DC. A friend of mine in Virginia took a west coast trip last year on his FLH and did not make it past Vegas they were gone for 4 weeks. Did you have your bike serviced while you were on your trip? |

Baldwin! A gap trip is definitely in order. I think I need some new tires first, so it will have to wait a few paychecks. Gater - Yeah, two weeks was not the ideal timeframe, but that was all that was available. I would have liked to stop, visit friends, and be a tourist pretty much every day. But I really wanted to ride the PCH and the only way to do it in two weeks from DC was to haul a$$. I didn't stop to service the bike during the trip. But the day before I left was pretty hectic - fresh Mobil 1 and filter, fresh trans oil, adjusted primary tension and clutch cable, brand new front brake pads and rotor, and spooned new tires on myself. During the trip, I checked the engine oil once per day, and checked the primary oil level at the halfway point. Although I was a little concerned about pulling so many miles through the desert heat, I never once fell below the "add" line on the dipstick. 7k between changes, even on $8/qt synthetic and a new, high quality filter, probably isn't a great idea for short trips in traffic or beating it on twisty mountain roads. But a couple weeks of 500mi days should be fine. I was a bit concerned about whether the rear tire would last the whole trip, but it was also fine. But now that I'm back, I've got some work ahead of me! Where in NoVa are you? I'd definitely be up for a Shenandoah trip one of these fall weekends... |

How was Martins BBQ joint. What oil filter do you use? Also Bike Bandit has a good deal on Michelin Pilot Powers you can have a set delivered for $211. I live between Gainesville VA and Warrenton VA. We can take 211 in Warrenton to Shenandoah. I went out that way this weekend. |

Been wanting to do this for a while now. I still like my flat black plastics, but this is cool for a change.
