Confession: haven't been askin' many folks for pictures of their rides, of late.
Kinda felt like a hooker lookin' for a date. ()

But two requests did come through today, so here are Kevyn's and Donn's.

Thanks! And though I might not ask, I'm always looking for some nice shots.

I love the "S2" kickstands on these bikes. I had a Norton Atlas when I was kid and don't remember having to cary a chunk of 2x4 with me.

Like the Norton Cafe. Lsr_Bbs indicated he wanted to build a 'millenium supermono'. Here's a pic of my 79/90 Supermono.

Nataraj's Custom Thumper

The engine is a '79 Yamaha SR500 bored to 540 (42 hp on the dyno!), and the chassis is a '90 Suzuki GS500. The bodywork is stock or Airtech (solo seat setup, front fender). It flies in the twisties!

Nataraj's Thumper and his wife's Blast

Hmmm, here's another shot of that custom thumper (along with YT) and my wife's Blast. There was another SR500 (my former bike) with us that day. What a hoot!

R.T, The front end is off a Laverda Jota, complete with brembo calipers and discs, the discs have been skimmed to reduce weight as original brembo discs were thick, my bike weighs about 140lbs lighter than the Jota. Straight swap, only had to make a spacer up for the top steering head bearing. Swinging arm is original Norton but I welded the bracing on at work and put the extra rear suspension lug on to alter the height of the back end for reasons I cannot remember!! Best mod was the oil in frame conversion, cleans the bike up no end...the bike in the picture ran like that, I used a cushion as a seat!! Boyer powerbox did away with the battery. I built the motor to Norton Full race spec and it dynoed at 64 rwhp after a season and a half in my mates Seeley Commando. You can now tune these twins to 90hp but at a cost. Mind you 64 rwhp pushing 280lbs of bike makes it quite quick on acceleration....

Can't figure this out. I upload a file _smaller_ than the others here and get this note:

"The file you attempted to upload had a disallowed file format. The file format application/x-macbinary is not valid for image uploading."

It's a jpeg out of Photoshop. Granted it's on a mac platform, but why does that make a diff?

Any help out there?

what's it got to do with Buells?
1) check out the carbon.
2) his third song was 'Pamela Brown'.

Fred, only thing I've got is that it should be under 50K. You're welcome to send it to me to try an upload.

Fred,
I used to get that on my Mac as well. My problem was not having the correct file type written at the end of the file's name.
eg. mycoolbike needed to be mycoolbike.jpg or mycoolbike.gif etc.

Thanks Peter. I had the suffix correct...I also tried a couple of other formats with no luck.

Steve, 50k? That pix of the guitarist is 136k on my desktop and 352k in Photoshop with pixel dimen 400 x 300.

Maybe it's my browser? It's an old version of AOL I use since BadWeather crashes my Netscrape. Well I'll try again.

Fred, The guitarist pic shows up online as 22.4KB. Try a click-hold on the pic above and select properties or whatever your browser offers as an equivalent feature. It should show the proper file size. Photoshop undoubtedly transforms the file into a less efficient (file size wise anyway) format, at least if it's anything like the Adobe PhotoDeluxe version that I have (came with the HP scanner). I have no idea why the file you saved to your desktop is so large. Did you create it directly from the web using a "Save Picture As" function on the pic above, or did you save it via Photoshop?

Are you using the "Browse" function when asked to specify the file for uploading? Just to be sure you are on track with the uploading scenario be sure to read the formatting help file and/or the tips at the top of this page.

It could be that your connection is causing problems for the BBS.

Oops, didn't see your reference to the old AOL browser. That's what is doing it. As far as browser trouble goes. You can either upgrade to Netscape 6.2 or later version or upgrade to MSIE. I highly recommend MSIE, especially since virtually all websites are designed primarily with MSIE in mind and 90% of web surfers now use MSIE. At least that's what Bill G. told me.
