Thats still gotta be the most beautiful Buell.
Is that Technoflex? or whatever shock working out
ok?It seems that a lot of the Buells on the
European websites have them.
Oops, maybe wrong place for this post
Thanks

Thanks Guys,
The tailsection is actually from RR Customizing in Germany (it can be purchased through Trojan Horse though). It a carbon/kevlar construction and it fits very nice (had to chop of the frametubes about 5 inches...). Easy job, took me about 5 hrs to complete the installation. I've been waiting for the painting a lot longer :-(

RRC has a lot of nice Buell stuff, it might be a good idea to have a look at www.r-r-customizing.de

By the way, I have a Carbon White Bros E-Series muffler and it's literally falling apart! The carbon is cracking op badly and the detoriation is escalating. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems to me that it can't withstand the heat/vibration combination. I'm no engineer so perhaps someone could enlighten me ;-)

Cheers/ Jonas

JRH, The way to handle off topic questions like yours would be to post the question in the KV, and post a link to it here asking Bull to check it out.

OK, I know this isn't a Buell, but if you like simple, nimble, light, 2-cylinder motorcyles, you gotta like Nortons, right?

73 commando 850

Motor's done, frame's painted, nuts & bolts are back from the platers...If you see the lights on late in my garage, this is why!

Love your Norton RT. It reminds me of my youthful days when British iron ruled the roads. In 1973 I tested the Triumph Trident and the Kawaski Z1 900. That was the last time I set my butt on (what I thought at the time) an archaic, underpowered, overpriced British bike.

The inline 4 ruled my life till 1986 when I moved to Ga and retired from riding. Ten years later I got an S1 on a whim and I still have it.

Thanks, guys, I just had to show it to somebody. My wife's getting tired of coming out to the garage every time I hang another piece on it!

Here's another pic:

front view, turbo beetle in background

These things are TINY!! Getting off any of the Buells and throwing a leg over the Norton feels like climbing on a 10-speed bicycle! I'll try to get a comparison pic showing the Norton against my S1.

Also, Court, please note my high-tech "milk carton" with the ball-bearing swivel seat!

RT:

Gorgeous Norton. . . something about the British Iron from that generation that has a powerful ability to capture the soul. I'm trolling for a Bonneville or Norton.

The acutal WHAT of the milk carton is much less important than the concept. In fact, John Muir (who coined the Milk Crate concept and the phrase "be kind to your ass, for it bears you") was recently featured in one of the business mags I get like Harvard Business Review. The "Compleat Idiots" guide, and Muir's thinking, was light years ahead of it's time.

Hey.....it works.

Gorgeous Norton. . .thanks for the pictures. Please make sure you post pictures when you're finished.

Donn, if I showed you, then I'd have to kill you!

Actually, under the drop cloth is a nasty pile of parts carefully preserved in 30 year-old grease! The artist in my soul forbade me from including them in my pictures!
