After the debate, my 2 main impressions is... I really don't like Trump's showing, I don't think he did a good job of sticking to the subject and his attacks on Joe* were poorly done. Not impressed. Think he turned off a Lot of people. Joe* Lies. I don't offhand recall a single true statement, except when he corrected the Auto Lie statement about his son dying In Iraq. Oh, and Darn! I was Impressed by his Dr. Feelgood Potion. I wonder how long he'll be comatose after it wears off, and when Joe* will be able to be in public again. I did skip the CNN Lie Fest after. Opinions? | ||

The voters didn't pick Biden* in 2024. The outcome was predetermined and the Convention Rules ( completely legal, understand, the Party is a Private Club and can write it's own rules to pick a nominee. ) have delegates chosen to vote to override Primary results. The Party already announced they'd have an online meeting to officially "determine" & announce the results to that annoying State that has a deadline the Party ignored to have their Convention later than normal for some tactical advantage. Basically turning the fake decision process ( all the pomp and circumstance of announcing votes and the Game Show excitement ) into a Spoilered Spectacle that is Pure Propaganda. ( surrounded by a screaming mob, according to the folk paying for the screaming mob ) Basically it's like a Bowl Game that the score was announced a month in advance, and thus is Championship Wrestling Drama, not sport. To be fair, the Republican Convention won't have any mystery either, but that's because That Private Club uses Democracy without corruption afterwards to pick a candidate and thus it's an Award Show, not The Game. If you can count, you know the result. Or read. ( thus it's going to be dramatic only to Public school students ) ( sarcasm ) Re: Private Club rules. In a small town near me, the Garden Club that does the landscaping for the Town Park Garden, has yearly elections so they can compete for who gets to be Prez. But the Prez picks her successor. Period. In my SCA Kingdom the King & Queen can't have the position more than One ( roughly 6 months ) at a time, so someone else can have the job. ( almost 99% it's just giving awards and picking some of them ) So twice a year there's a Crown Tournament, and the winner & Consort get the job, next. ( after a few months transition to smooth the transfer of paraphernalia, like Thrones and paperwork ) Crown Prince & Princess is like President Elect. With more pomp, maybe. It's a deliberately devised system that has an Executive with only the power of suggestions and veto, to keep changes from voting members from ruining the fun too fast. It's a historical group and they understand the dangers of cult of personality wrecking the Club by pi$$ing people off. It's not a system I'd recommend for picking Presidents or Governors, though I really enjoyed the full contact weapons forms tournament, because being the most skilled in a martial art isn't the skill set you need for arguing budgets. ( admittedly at times I do fantasize. "Think the Custodians will get new painting gear this year? The Superintendent of Schools hasn't been working out." ) You gotta admit, the Irony is HUGE that the Republicans choose democratically while the Democrats are committee royalists. | ||

Between insane energy policy and the Inflation Reduction Act, aka inflation boosting theft given to those who bribed him to make insane energy policy, I chose taking money out of my own retirement account, that wouldn't be enough to buy the car in a few months if I didn't spend it fast. Oh, and a hybrid to get the least fuel cost per mile, since Joe* also gave Gay Mayor Pete the job of building electric car charging infrastructure, and when Pete wasn't on maternity leave, he was busy presumably giving billion$ to the people that bribed Joe*, since we didn't get a dozen chargers and those are probably broken by thieves that stole the copper. ( at least that was the results advertised, inadvertently, by the politician who took days to drive across a few States down south in perfect weather, waiting for and searching for a working charger.
