It'd be incredibly stupid for Ukraine to do a terrorist attack in Moscow at a concert, which is SOP for Muslim terrorists. After all, the ideal solution for Ukraine is to have the Russian people angry at Putin, not Ukraine. A coup taking out Putin and his replacement not being furious about a useless murder spree, is their best shot at peace. Typical Islamist terrorists go for soft targets like theaters. Remember the Islamist attack the Russian military tried to stop with nerve gas? ( they said it was to make the hostage holding Muslims sleepy. Oops. ) If you can get a dozen armed killers into the Enemy Capitol, there's lots better and more useful targets that would make sense for Ukraine. Like fuel storage or electric grid. | ||

And to show no one is safe from Jihad. Putin's government posting torture videos? That's a new take on demanding respect violating international and local law. I understand the anger, and even getting the information despite rules and morality. But publishing it? If that REALLY is a popular publicity stunt, then my respect for Putin's subjects is seriously diminished. Trying to blame the attack on Ukraine is normal for Putin. Doing so with arrogant stupidity is typical of the Soviets. I'm going to be sympathetic this fall when the fuel shortage freezes so many innocents. But I'm going to cheer each refinery that Ukraine destroys, and mock the E.U. Watermelons as they complain. Trump told you so. Not going to be that happy as the price of energy soars, but maybe enough angry people will vote to overcome the fraud, this time. | ||

Crusty, I'd argue against nuking Mecca, it's like nuking the stadium where the Superbowl will be held. Unless it's the right date, it's just a place. And lots of innocents surrounding it. Assuming you consider the NFL as an existential threat,  the Superbowl event would actually be a "better" target for eliminating the leaders. Mecca is a pilgrimage too, in this analogy, but the leaders don't go there during the crowded times, you'd just kill fans mostly, not eliminate the leaders. Plus, it's just going to infuriate the Muslims ( or football fans ) and accomplish little good. Although there are nuclear bomb facilities near Mecca that are a legit target. A neutron bomb would be useless against the buried bunkers. A deep penetrator strike would work and might render Mecca an irradiated death zone like Chernobyl. Still a provocative move. But far more useful than the mass murder of civilians without military utility. One of the Clive Cussler spy novels involved the hero stopping a plot to make the Big black rock in Mecca technobabble radioactive to murder Muslims on pilgrimage. Insane revenge plot by villain. The hero & author understand it would be a Bad Idea. ( doesn't fix anything, just angers billions, makes everything worse, and it sucks now ) And Tehran, like Moscow or Beijing or D.C. has all those human shields. I'm thinking retail, not wholesale, action would be better in the 21st century. Rewards for the heads of... | ||
