Looking to possibly buy an EBR 1190sx. Not sure I can load into my toy hauler:
Toy Hauler:
*Ramp: 34.5” height and 100” length
EBR 1190SX
*Ground clearance: 4.7”
*Wheel base: 55.5”
Length: 80.3”

Anyone have experience with this? Holding off on purchase until know I can load it.

Don;t know about a toy hauler (not really sure what it looks like), but I have loaded an RX, an SX and a Lightning on one of these:

Not at the same time....

That motorcycle carrier might be a good backup to the toy hauler garage.

Dont know about a toy hauler (not really sure what it looks like).

Its a camper with a back door that opens downward too form a ramp, just like a car hauler trailer. You can put carry a small motorcycle or mini bike in the back. It usually sits in the dining area, so you have to unload the bike to free up the space when you camp.

Mite be worth it to invest in a extra folding motorcycle ramp.

Here is a YouTube video

Are you worried about loading it? or carrying it?

I think he is worried about loading it.

I'm thinking it's the breakover angle he is concerned about, does not want the bike to bottom out at the top of the ramp where it meets the toy hauler deck.

I still know A squared + B squared = C squared, but can't remember enough trigonometry to get the exact angle.

According to a Trig calculator online, the angle is 69.82.

Anyone know how to apply that to 4.7" ground clearance?

They make curved ramps that obviate breakover.

Okay, the best I can figure is No, you can't load it before bottoming out.

Your breakover for the bike is 19.2 degrees.

The angle of the deck to ramp is 20.18 degrees.

Just a little bit off. At a 5" ground clearance your breakover angle is 20.4 and you would make it.

Maybe air up the tires to max and go for it???

I suppose the caveman approach would be to estimate the point of bottoming out and stick a chunk of 2x12 ahead of the REAR wheel at that point, effectively lifting the back end to change the point the angles would converge - aka contact.

I think putting a block of wood or something similar underneath the edge of the ramp would work as well. Decrease the angle from the start, and move her on in.

Back up to a slope so the end of the ramp is higher. Doesn't take much.

Using a secondary ramp attachment with something to jack or hold the toy hauler ramp door up looks like a possible solution. Not sure from the video how he attaches that secondary ramp to the toy hauler ramp door.

At the 4:50 minute he uses a ratchet strap to secure the ramp to the trailer for safety. The ramp can slide out and drop. I've had it happen to me before not fun.

You want a ramp wide enough you can touch down with both feet. It's cheaper than rebuild the bike.

I've never had a problem loading even the lowest of bikes, especially a short-wheelbase sportbike. If you're worried about high-centering, do NOT ride the bike up - WALK it up. No body weight on the seat will effectively increase ground clearance. You can also get bolt-on extensions for the ramp door - L-shaped ramps that bolt to the top of the closed door and hang on the inside, that you can flip out when you use the ramp door. The short leg of the L becomes a stand, propping up what used to be the bottom of the door, and the long leg extends the ramp, so you get a shallower angle.

My suspicion is, unless you have an "off road" toyhauler with crazy-tall increased floor height, you'll be just fine. I load my 1125CR into my pickup truck (2001 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4x4) with an 8' long ramp, and don't bottom out at all. And I RIDE it in.

...for feet, I have a pair of 2x4s with old nylon straps screwed to them. I spread them out so I can walk up them, the straps run under the bike ramp, and keep the boards from splitting/spreading apart if I need them for support. I just roll one board up in the straps till they meet, and they store/travel as a sandwiched pair.

Can't answer your exact question because I don't own an 1190SX, but I did own a '99 M2 and it loaded fine into my Forest River 180RT (looks just like yours). No bottoming. Good luck.

Thanks for all the great responses. I ended up making a cardboard template of clearances.
It turns out I had a worst case of 2" of clearance. I forgot to take into account the base of the ramp has 2.5" standoff.
