So I took the plunge into another money pit (because I don't have enough), and bought an '06 TJ Wrangler 4.0 with a six speed manual. I heard some gear noise, thought "rear diff"...nope. Doing fluid services, the trans drain plug magnet came out looking like a porcupine. It's a NSG370 six speed...anyone know of one laying around anywhere? Jeep's solid as a rock, clean, bone-stock...just need to replace the trans. |

Hardest part about rebuilding a tranny is getting the thing out. Since you have to do that anyway, it can’t hurt to pop it open and see what’s getting chewed. Might be an easy fix. |

I've been looking at the schematics on these things...ain't nothing easy on them. These are the German six speeds - the shift fork assembly looks like a freakin' rib cage. I'm finding them online for relatively-OK prices and no shipping charges, so I may just go that route. I just know there's some Jeepers here on the forum so I figured I'd ask. Where's Mark on this one??? |

Contact Dead Jeep in RI. I'm sure Ray has one and he will ship. |

My jeeps were older. I'm out of the jeeping game. It went shortly after the Uly. |
