I'm frankly torn between frustration that the R Congresscritters can't seem to get their act together and happiness that Congress isn't screwing us as much during this hiatus.
If I understand it right, the big issue is Omnibus illegal Continuing Resolution Spending with zero discussion and transparency. Bills literally no one on the House floor has had an opportunity to read and argue about spending billion$.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

I've had Black Sabbath's War Pigs and The Warning's Kool-Aid Kids on rotation in my riding set list.
But I've also got Kansas's Song For America & Pink's Greatest Hits-So Far, I know how to fight depression from external forces. ( I suggest never going past Defiance towards the Apathy end of the programmed 5 Stages of Loss list, to start with, in politics. )
Pink Floyd seems to be the Parent's counterrevolution anthem group.

The Five Stages of Loss, according to a decent mental health doctor with the best of intentions, is...
Denial, anger, bargaining, sorrow, acceptance.
Or in real world terms...
Shock, defiance, cunning, torment, apathy.
The List as created is a decent observation of human reactions. That the profession as a whole may use it as an oversimplification of emotional distress to avoid considering people as individuals with agency is unfortunate, but understandable, that's a lot of work few are good at.
Ymmv.
I often point out that things are darkest just before they go completely black. That's sarcasm and humor to fight the very real forces in the world that want you to be an easily manipulated joyless drone. Joke them if they can't take a F#$%. |

Still waiting to see how much regret I should have at supporting a shake up in the Republican Establishment.
I don't know what is going on in meetings and the Other Party Media sure won't tell us the truth.
I'm still hoping to avoid the seemingly inevitable path taken by the "People's Republics" and Soviets where disobedient representatives are publicly taken away to never be seen alive again, like recently in China. |

There's a joke that the Citizens of his State were surprised Mike Johnson is their Congresscritter. I'm not sure if that is to pick on them or highlight that too many don't pay attention to their employees. 
And I'm pretty ignorant of Speaker Johnson's positions. He didn't advertise here. Not my monkey. But the Circus is all of ours'. It's Our bane, and responsibility.
But golly gee I like him for his Enemies!
It's axiomatic that when The Bad Guys accuse you of being evil, you're the Good Guy. It's very imperfect as a decision making process, true. But it's hard to go wrong when you side with the people that are hated by the side that support genocide and gang rape.
It's not a sure thing! But when the folk chanting Nazi slogans hate someone, I know who's side I'm on. |
