^ That's some insane crap there. If you've never seen it, Nova (IIRC) did a really good show on the 1918 flu pandemic, and it made coronavirus look like a case of the sniffles for most people that got it. Largely, babies and elderly people were spared, but people that were thought to be the most healthy would catch it and be dead a day later. My own grandfather was thought to have contracted it in late November 1918; my grandmother was ~9 months pregnant carrying my dad at the time. My grandfather was carried to a house a few miles away to hopefully avoid spreading the infection. My dad was born on December 1, and someone rode out to let my grandad know. He made a miraculous recovery and was okay a few days later. So hopefully, if it gets out again, I inherited some of his 1918-flu resistant genes. | ||
