I'm just guessing, but the rationalization/excuse the "rulers" ( Ottawa Establishment & police ) might be using is fear of incendiary bombs. While in this context, Canadian Patriots and freedom lovers, the only danger is Government False Flag operations, in criminal conspiracy with Leftist Terrorist/theft groups, in the context of THAT danger, if the hired fake "protesters" exceed the orders given by the local version of the SA, could result in mass casualties. Most FBI terrorism creation & public relations busts, lately, involve FBI agents creating a plot, selling it to a group of fools, arranging the "sale" of fake explosives or weapons, then a big arrest with headlines to show how Awesome The Bureau Is. Haven't followed the Canadian version of that, it's ignored by U.S. Agitprop. But the possibility of failure to control the access and lethality of a faked terror plot ( to discredit/arrest the Patriots ) is scary. When you play these kinds of games you don't want to actually have the Reichstag burn down or Governor Whitmer actually assassinated. Usually. You just want the fame and Propaganda. And I have near zero fear that the Protesters will do something stupid. But they've already had attempted vehicular manslaughter from, presumably, the "left easily fooled authoritarian government loyalists", so the possibility of some maniac convinced by the Canadian Press that it's his Duty to ( for example ) strike the Unacceptable, or False Flag Parliament, is very scary. The Biden* Injustice Dept. Is going to plotz. This means a Federal Judge is going to insist that protecting the borders is a Federal Responsibility, and States are forbidden to act. IIRC that's what a Barry or Clinton regime appointee said already. How that's going to look when the facts show that the law is deliberately not being enforced, will depend on the viewer. I see what you're saying (and fully expect it'll happen), but the workaround for that is Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground. People (citizens) have the RIGHT to defend themselves, and their PROPERTY, under the Constitution of the United States of America. It'll be like a perverse version of suburbia - neighbors will get together along the border, and build the world's biggest fence. Whether the state/city/county gives them a massive break on tax liability to help with the expense, is up to the state/city/county... | ||

Replacement Governor Kathy has announced check points on the NY/PA border to catch gun smugglers. Which iirc, is literally Unconstitutional, Interstate travel is protected. Oh, they do inspection checkpoints here all the time. Not only is it just a quick glance, but the police cars have camera AI software to catch expired registrations & inspections. On the fly. ( one of my customers did the software ) I tweak them all the time because I often have inspection stickers out of phase with registration, different color. ( used cars I had inspected early and cars layed up for the winter I got inspected months late ) But... This is State Border stuff. Constitutional rights?
