Actually it makes perfect sense to buy a technology to fix the side effects of a drug that millions of people have taken. Yea! Team! There's also a conspiracy theory that a vaccine for this bioweapon was contracted for over a year before it got ( probably accidentally ) on the planet. My GUESS is the bare facts on that rumor are basically true, but the imputed motivation is not. The entire IDEA behind Gain Of Function research is to have a dangerous critter in your lab to practice developing vaccines for. ( But you don't want to practice on one of the really nasty bugs like Hemorrhagic Smallpox, which kills 100% of the people it infects, and hopefully is locked up in a serious security AND containment lab. Preferably one with a red button that flushes the lab with high molar base and fire hot enough to melt aluminum. And a megaton range thermonuclear bomb to turn the entire facility into plasma. ( like in The Andromeda Strain ) And you only build that kind of thing near a city if you are insane or don't care at all how many people you murder. Even the Soviets reportedly moved their most dangerous stuff out to labs in the 'stans. And unfortunately the CCP is well documented to not caring, at all, how many million peasants they murder. ) So "of course" Moderna got a contract to develop a spike protein vaccine when the Wuhan Institute of Virology got the contract from Dr. Fauci to develop a spike protein bearing virus, to practice on. ( assuming the rumors are true ) That the U.S. Congress passed a law forbidding that very dangerous and very useful research on advice from actual expert Doctors is established fact. Perspective is nice. But don't abuse the idea into sheeplike acceptance either way. After all, the local City set a new homicide record, and Rochester has, in some last years, been high on the top 10, even top 5, per capita murder capitols of the country. So, with that perspective, do you cheer our record breaking efforts? Or just sigh, as things return to "normal"? Or cower in your basement wearing a foil mask? I just remind myself to be a Lert ( we need more Lerts! ) and thank Freya I don't work every day in the neighborhoods I used to, where gunfire is still daily life. I still count the "shot spotting" boxes on poles that use microphones to locate the gunfire for police. They've improved response times and made policing safer. Big Brother as all hell, true, but so are the cameras that give us those Fail videos with cars driving into stuff. We don't know yet the death rate for the latest mutant. If it's far less than Alpha, Great! That seems to be so, so far. But it's GOING TO KILL SOME PEOPLE. As you say, so do swimming pools. Do you not care if your children drown? Of course not! I'm sure you care if Granny bites it. Too. I do understand your frustration at the Panic Whores. The video above is as objective as I have found, and actually had references, unlike the lying sacks at MSNBC who don't really understand what a virus is even with cartoons and a powerpoint. There are still goals to be had. Reduced homicide rates, for one. REALISTIC goals, though. "Zero cases"? Unrealistic. It's a VIRUS, it'll never happen, stop with the fear porn and the mandates when we will never reach that goal. Stop moving the goalposts every time you screw up. 2 weeks to flatten the curve. Mask mandates until xx% are vaxxed Mask mandates (jab or no jab) until cases are below xxxx per capita Jab isn't enough, you must get boosters #1 and #2 and #..... Common sense. That's all it takes...but as we know, it is no longer common. Far from it. Stop being afraid of AIR. Stop wearing a worthless piece of cloth. Stop FORCING people to wear an ineffective piece of cloth. Stop forcing people to get an ineffective jab (that alters your, and your DESCENDENTS, DNA) or they lose their jobs. Stop shutting down businesses because they don't "comply". Stop killing our economy over something that has a 99.8% recovery rate. If people WANT to mask, to get jabbed, to hide in the basement and live off GrubHub...let 'em. If they (we) don't? Stop trying to force them (us) to. Just...stop. | ||

They might be! If the focus of the response had been sane, common sense, and not Bad Lawyer Political Theater, then it would have pushed for vaccination of the elderly, where the danger was greatest, and the risks of genetic damage mostly irrelevant. ( with mRNA vaccines ) The risk/reward ratio for people under ( an arbitrary age of ) 40, is less well researched. For pregnant women and children? Unknown and irresponsible. Except in high risk cases. And ALWAYS as voluntary choice. "Get stabbed or get fired" isn't voluntary, and any politician who claims it is while demanding you Obey, deserves to be tossed off a high cliff with the instructions, "if you don't want to fall, just don't!". My opinion might be different if the vaccines effectively prevented transmission ( which NONE do ) or were risk free. ( which NONE are ) And the Obey until Forever aspects of insane "until the virus is gone" is certainly worthy of revolt. My baseline for most things is, Adult, informed, consent. You wanna ride motorcycles or have sex or take drugs, same thing, responsibility and freedom of choice, both, not either. Feel free to argue, but you'd better have a really good one. | ||

Assume 50 people in your community die every year from old age, heart failure, car crashes, murder, suicide, eating raw chicken, etc. And this year 30 people died of one,NEW, cause. But the total is only 60. The first question I'd ask is "what were the underlying causes for all 30 of the NEW deaths? How many overlaps are there, to what killed people in other, "normal" years?" From what I've seen, covid doesn't kill you. It taxes your immune system, yes. If you're otherwise-compromised...it can open the door for the OTHER stuff to kill you. If you're not otherwise-compromised...you get some sniffles, feel like crap for a few days, and move on. Or...you feel nothing at all, get over it, and have natural antibodies for the future. If they REALLY wanted to stop this thing, they'd harvest these natural antibodies and make REAL vaccines from them. They can identify the natural antibodies (they tell us...just like they tell us they can identify covid, and its various strains, through testing)...so why not harvest and replicate? Early on, the CDC said up to one hundred TIMES the number of people who reported cases, had antibodies in their systems. That means two things - first, this thing is one hundred times LESS deadly than all the reports, and second, we can supposedly easily identify these antibodies - and we have been able to do so for a long time now - so why aren't we using them to fight it? | ||

From what I've seen, covid doesn't kill you Well, you don't dissolve into a goo of Covid like a bad plague movie I've seen. But when your lungs till with fluid from the cytokine storm as your body over reacts I'd say that counts. Technically almost everyone dies of heart failure. If a falling tree rips off your arm, and you lose blood until the heart stutters on air and stops, technically heart failure. If an Antifa thug shoots you in the heart, and the damage stalls it out like a chainsaw engine hit by a big rock, yep, heart failure. That guy on the roller coaster who stands up and the steel beam removes his head? Yep, the lack of electrical stimulation means heart failure. Sure, there's no doubt from the reports that being old and fat and diabetic and COPD and being in a nursing home in NY, NJ, MN all greatly increase your risk of dying. But the diabetics aren't dying from sugar in the blood. Fat people, old people and dying of pneumonia aren't mutually exclusive, by far. Governor Cuomo killed 14000 odd people with Covid and his executive order. Without the executive order, you can count deaths in nursing homes where they didn't deliberately send the infectious and dying and get a rough number. You can look at how many died in 2019 before the CCP Coronavirus was spread. And the dead murdered by Cuomo died of Covid too. There were dozens/hundreds/thousands? of strokes and heart attacks that Didn't kill people because Covid infection made them die from their lungs filling up... Heck, it's possible that more people were "saved" from motorcycle accidents by dying of Covid induced pneumonia before they could be hit by that Buick than the stupidly false counted as a Covid deaths riders crushed by a Buick. Even worse, how many were saved because Aunt Gladys wasn't driving her Buick because she died in a nursing home from Covid, pneumonia, and Cuomo? I agree the numbers are wrong. Since a hospital makes MONEY from Covid cases, then that headless roller coaster guy whose corpse tested positive is counted as a Covid death. Like the motorcyclists hit by Buicks. And the tests are abused. If You click the number of cycles up high enough, salsa has Covid. ( some African President claims he had lunch tested positive. ) So if you're skeptical that A Million Americans died of Covid for the above reasons as of Dec 17, 2021, you have good reason to be. That arbitrary number might not actually apply until mid February. Good luck determining the exact date! But the claim no one you know died of Covid, only other things, while sick with the Wuhan supercold, is stupid, makes you sound like a fracking Karen, and is almost certainly False based on the truths & excuses I list above. Oh, it's Possible your statement is technically true. Some of the Covid dead I know personally died of strokes or heart attacks and might have died at age 44 & 38 anyway, just 3 weeks later. Hard to tell. And we can discuss the dead from the mRNA vaccines another time. It's not zero. One guess is a bit less than 1% of the reported Covid dead. The Demographics are critical for those deaths, just like ( but very different from ) Covid-19 Alpha & Delta. | ||

 Insert joke here. Something about church services being superspreader events & maskless fundraisers at the country club being perfectly safe. ( I can't think of a funny one  ) Rat, I agree on the tyranny aspects of the panic porn. Yep. A medical detail, the antibodies ( and other bits ) from a recovered person's blood can, and is, used to make a Treatment to boost the immune system. It's not a vaccine, and it's too expensive and risky to use as a general prophylactic like Vitamin D. ( long term use might be bad for you ) Awesome stuff when it works, though. Like overnight turn around. Monoclonal Antibody treatment was offered to my in law's but they didn't go for it, as it was expensive and they were recovering. Both are now recovered/recovering. Out of breath quickly and low energy. Tested positive for antibodies and no longer infectious.  Even the "miracle cure" drugs don't have people playing tennis in just days, depending on severity, etc. What I think you want/mean is a classic attenuated virus vaccine, ( dead viruses and/or fragments, taken to trigger immune response ) OR a synthetic vaccine that uses fake virus fragments made in the factory. However, vaccines for Coronavirus types have been hard to make. That's besides the fast mutation rate that makes next month's strain slide past last month's vaccine. We'll see what happens. Also, I find the news that many people have already apparently got & conquered Covid-19 without noticing, to be great. Makes the odds better! | ||
