Aesquire, Still believing the 630,000 FROM Covid? PCR tests only showed that someone was sick and not what they had. I'll premise this with, I am not looking to you for these answer, so this question is rhetorical. What are the real survival rates from Covid for a middle age male, with no co-morbidity issues, and a healthy diet? MY GUESS would be, unbelievably HIGH! This is the point I've been trying to make through the entire conversation; there are those that are high risk and should strongly consider the shot, but otherwise, why risk the still UNKNOWN risks from the shot regardless of the FDA's hasty, questionable, politically driven approval. | ||

Still believing the 630,000 FROM Covid? I Don't believe uncritically any number. It's from the CDC. You want odds, and I assume the most pessimistic case, which means use the largest number for dead by Covid. Neither you nor I know if 500,000 or 365,000 is a better number. But we both bet 630,000+ is "overly generous". It's still, imho, more "accurate" than "case numbers" which are based on tests that can give false positives if you change the number of cycles in software. Or if you prefer, the number dead is obviously inflated for political purposes. The number of cases is completely fictional. Less than 1% chance of dying. That's using CDC official numbers ( which we agree are high ) and census numbers ( which are low because of illegals ). I use standard aeronautical engineering practice. Idiot reporters might call it Worst Case. I assume the limits must apply across the entire system. If I build an airplane to not break, I have to calculate based on max weight. And not just the wings, but everything like motor mounts ( engine falling out is a fail ) and seat supports. ( pilot falling out is a fail ) then apply a multiplier to account for imperfections. So your 99+% answer is conservative. Some will claim a higher number, like 99.94%, which might be closer, but doesn't disagree. You have a less than 1 in a hundred chance of dying from the CCP Coronavirus of 2019. Might be 1 in a thousand. Doubt it's 1 in a million. Wish I could get closer, but we both know why I don't. Better than 99% is pretty solid. How much better I don't know. And I don't see any major errors in the "good news" editorial Ducbsa posted above. Our numbers are different because our assumptions are different. But the editorial doesn't Disagree that your odds are better than 99% of not dying of CCP plague '19. | ||

I think that's low by several tens of millions, but can't prove it so I'll use that number. 1 in a million odds work out to 333 dead. 1 in a thousand = 333,000 dead. Claim by CDC is near twice that. 333 I don't buy. Even with the so called Media lying daily, compulsively, sociopathic and hell bent on supporting evil, that's too low. This is a great event that we love to go to every year, but of course couldn't go for the last to years thanks to Covid! I feel obligated to point out that the American Thinker article is an editorial, and not to be used as the final word on medical treatment. They are biased, and often sensationalist, and alarmist. That I might share their bias towards Responsibility and freedom and against Tyranny and slavery, doesn't mean I endorse or believe everything they say, and neither should you. Looks mostly like common sense to me. Separate the troublesome from the threatened is a classic approach. I point out from the opening section This approach has never been documented and has raised questions and concerns among humanitarian partners... Which one doesn't matter, just that the ads are on heavy rotation on TV shows that have audiences old and fat and sick enough to need drugs to live. And I'm grateful that there are multiple choices for a drug to treat most conditions, even if your insurance doesn't cover all of them. As I've mentioned before, different people have different reactions to medication. ( and food, and... ) So it's a GOOD thing that there's more options. I often joke about TV Drugs. The lady riding a bicycle smiling, the man picking up a child, camping tents and sunsets, all intended to imply life will be great if only you take TV Drug! I don't joke about that, it's too meta for civilians. I joke about the disclaimer. My absolute favorite line is one EVERY DRUG ON TV has, "do not take TV Drug if you are allergic to TV Drug." Well, duh. But it's boilerplate. Lawsuit armor. I get that, but it's funny and sad that the implied stupidity is too real. I also "love" ( for sarcasm reasons ) the incredibly horrid side effects. It is the disproportionate nature that's funny. If the TV Drug is for Cancer or Heart Disease, then "you might have suicidal thoughts" or "may cause kidney failure" are kinda expected if you know anything about medication at all. Serious life saving drugs must do Serious work, thus Serious risk. If it's for acne, or male pattern baldness, then warnings like "may cause Tuberculosis" or "sudden death" just seem excessive. I'm sure the risk is really low, or hope so, but it's CYA and everything kills somebody. That Tuberculosis warning is serious though, I've already said statistics don't matter to the grieving. Hey, I'm glad there's hope for future generations not to be called Pizza face. Kids are cruel so they'll find something else to pick on you for, but clear skin is very nice. Anyway, my TV Drug can cause nausea, spontaneous human combustion, and liver failure. Pretty typical. Have a nice day. | ||

I am Very Skeptical about the bias and truth content of this Editorial. Can't say every word is true. Can't tell what triggered me to Caution You!!! about it. Tone? That Thinker has been fringe antivaxx? A 3rd dose might be wise if you had no bad reaction and it will improve immunity. I'm aware this is EXPERIMENTAL, as much as a Common Cold vaccine, it's new technology for a difficult if not impossible type of virus to make vaccines for. It is Not Unusual to need multiple doses for effective vaccines, 2 is usual today, but for Rabies and others, more. ( one of the vaccinations I got targeted on Middle East diseases took 3 or more, back in 1979 ) In a different note, the combination of decrepitude, and hanging around with EMTs and ER & IC nurses, has me triggering or amusing the poor schlubs that have to ask us medical questions. They read off a string of Bad Things, like pain in joints and shortness of breath, and my return inevitably is like "you mean new pain, or organ failure, right?". Which gets reactions that often tell me how the rest of our interaction will go.  | ||
