I'm a Shoei RF-1200 fan, Complaint if any is the chipmunk cheeks. I planned on getting the thinner cheek pads, but never did. It seams to move well through the air at speed and weight is way less than the modular I had prior. I wear a white one. I do not know if it is more visible. I know light on the front of aircraft were experimented with as camouflage at one time. So, you have that.
Everybody's head is shaped differently. The helmet that fits me better than any other that I've tried in over 50 years of riding is a Schuberth C-3.
A while back, one of the magazines checked out many helmets to see which protected best. It turned out that they all did about the same job. The cheap helmets took just as much of an impact and protected just as well as the expensive helmets.
Since they all do about as good of a job, find the one that fits your head best and is the most comfortable.
If we never agree on anything, I'll always appreciate greatly your appreciation of fine machinery, and your photography. Thank you, sir. Heck, I've always wanted a Futura. Not to mention your Buells going on. Props as props are due, and I've been a long time in saying so. Years now, and you always improve my day by posting pics. That Oprah thing is tired, though.
I do believe I have a piece of rope. Guess I gotta go pee now. Once I hang said rope in a vertical way. Oh, also forgot to toss some pearls to swine, put onto to-do list.
Ran, or rather slowly puttered, about 50 miles of Skyline Drive in Va today. Incredible perfect road, only got stuck behind a.camper trailer the last 5 miles on the way back.
This was a bucket list ride for my bro in law, Earl, and I only found out they'd booked a campsite Sunday, so I impulse agreed and we loaded up their trailer and Navigator and drove down yesterday.
Plan, such as it is, is the Blue Ridge Parkway Thursday...
You couldn't ask for a more mechanically diverse group. Honda Odyssey, ( for the non riders ) '84? Yamaha 400 Maxim, '80 XS1100, '01 Cyclone, '74 Honda Trail 70... with a Piranha racing pit bike engine.
I live 24 miles from Front Royal at the top of the Skyline Drive. The views are spectacular there, but not so much if it is foggy. The weather forecast for today is Sunny, so it ought to be good for you.
So many constant radius turns. It can lull you into complacency. When you see the US501 signs you are in my neck o' the woods. Glasgow is where I'm retiring to, just down the hill...
35 on Skyline 45 on Blue Ridge. 3rd & 4th gear on Buttercup.
Legit speeds. Yeah, I could do most of Blue Ridge @ 60+ but not in the 35 zones. ( yeah, but...) Normal humans on lesser bikes or cars? Death. I can happy cruise at legal speeds there. You can so easily go "Ooh! Pretty" and miss a turn.
Saw a sign new to me. "HIGH CRASH AREA". Legitimately phrased.
Dammit man! The BRP from Black Mountain to Cherokee is probably the prettiest section. Black Mountain NC itself is very, very cool. Blowing Rock and Lake Lure aren't too far away... God's Country.
I LOVE Western North Carolina. DON'T MISS WHEELS THROUGH TIME, in Maggie Valley.
