Why am I doing this? Because Tracey wants it. The wall is flat now. Next I will throw a little mud at it and some sizing to get ready for tiles.
Here is the beveled glass mirror herringbone that will be going on it:

Here is one of the maps:
I made her a jig to hold the tiles for cutting:
Here is the other map almost filled in:

I like the way you think! Great work. |

To be honest, Tracey asked me to draw the wall and outlets on brown craft paper so she could have all the pieces cut prior to sticking them on the wall. After she fills this one up there is a layer of cardboard and the second map to lay on top of this. When that one is filled we will start on the stove wall to get all the practice in for the sink wall that is the focal point of the room. Herringbone was a last minute switch from a boring brick pattern with almost identical material. She does stained glass too. Getting lucky happens more often for the proactive. |

We worked together on this pulpit. I modified the art work free hand to fit the space where it needed to go. She created the stained glass on that and I installed and illuminated it when she was done:

I get to start with this:
Pretty sure while tracking the knob and tube, neutral is being switched, not the hot in this case. And there's more just in this one little bathroom. |

Working with an electrician in a 1926 bungalow that my wife is selling. Turns out the knob & tube we thought we had decommissioned several years ago is actually still live. Quote is 2 to 8,000. Ouch! Good luck! |

Slumber number bed mattress arrived today
I put down 3/4" plywood over the slats and put a hole in each side for air line clearance. Even put a radius on the edges.
To keep the mattress from sliding sideways I mounted 1 3/8" x 5' dowels on the plywood.
Here is one with wood plugs in the screw holes.

Weeded one of the lily patches. I call this one the statue patch. Going to try rubber mulch this year:
This in my utility vehicle on the manor:
It works very well. I need to rebuild the chassis. The drive tires are bowed out. The plywood is because the neighbors dog keeps eating the 2x4s on his fence. Lucky me got the plywood for free. |

Got the grout in today. I mixed and ran float while Tracey ran sponge and clean up/QC.
48 to 72 hour cure time on this stuff. I need to make some little trim pieces and caulk the lower edge to counter top after the cure.
5 pounds of un-sanded grout there. First time either of us have ever done tile and we picked glass mirrored herringbone. We looked at each other and said once is enough times. |

For $30.00 more this faucet was supposed to come in black. My thought is that the black fixture is going to become dated like slotted Cragers. No need to worry. Black is not available through stores or the factory. As far as I can tell it never went into production in black. It sprays in a fan pattern when you push the button. Great at rinsing. I thought it was just some advertising hype.
Another day of curing on the grout. Then Tracey will be cleaning it up so I can seal it and add the trim and outlet covers. |

Put a new fan in the guest room. Been on the list since we moved in.
The bedroom set is the one that was in my grandma's house when I was a baby and was my furniture my junior year in high school when I lived with her. No, it is not the same mattress. Now it is in my guest room. I remember standing on the bed near 60 years ago pretending I was steering a sailing ship with the headboard as the wheel. It is an imitation wagon wheel, and the footboard is a double yoke.

Yesterday was a busy day. My neighbor texted me; a tree fell across her stockade fence in the night. She doesn't have any extra money. Got it fixed.

It's been a while since I've posted on BadWeb but had to comment on the kitchen. I'm in the middle of a face-lift on mine at the moment and almost picked the same exact backsplash for our house. We ended up picked a slate style backsplash with an accent piece behind the stove. We sanded and painted our cabinets, added new hardware with soft close slides, quartz countertop, led under cabinet lights and a farmers sink. We were only going to sand and paint the cabinets and one thing lead to another and here I am........... Here are some pictures of my redo on my kitchen. I'm adding a few shots of what it looked like when we bought the house a few years ago. I did more than what I listed above but didn't feel like taking up a whole page. lol Still need to build an island and remove/replace the floor tile all while trying to finish my ridiculous addition.........

Laser level. What kind of sorcery is that? Looking good. We bought the house knowing how deep we were going to go. We decided after the second house that we would update and live in the next one. Last one we updated to sell. |

Laser level is a toy I bought for myself a few weeks ago. It has come in handy more times than I thought it would. I also picked up a laser tape measure at the same time. Another cool toy. |

I do believe we make our own luck. I decided it was time to take the hubs apart on my trailer. I am trailering to Suches in a couple of weeks for the Rosso II's on Lil Red sake. They do not give me a lot of miles in their short life span. The trailer will keep 1,000 slab miles off them. I got the bearings back in the hubs with some fresh grease. Then decided to use my spare trailer tires and rims for the trip. This one was on the left side:
Been a long time since I had seen a ferrule. |

The first house I bought had stained glass windows in the back door. Before I sold the house I took the windows out and saved them. I got a door today and put them in it:
Here it is from the garage:
And here it is from the kitchen/dining room.
