They need to design new air cooled engine and slap it in the SX frame.

Ford needs to introduce a steam engine option for the F-350 too...

Steam engine just like liquid cooled engine requires more maintenance and less reliable.

As usual, misinformation or just plain wrong.

Steam engines have no electric needs, can burn any fuel that produces an exothermic reaction, including Proton-Proton Fusion.

A few mechanical valves, those do need lubrication, but pressurized oil isn't that hard to do, that tech is at least 2 centuries old, it was used in looms.

True, a triple expansion vertical piston steam engine in a Pre-Dreadnought Battleship will shake itself apart over a long run at overload power, which is why HMS Dreadnought with It's steam turbine engines was the Speed King of turn of the century battle. That's not the power source, that's engineering detail.

It's the power to weight ratio that keeps your scooter from being steam instead of IC.

And it's hard to meet emissions with air cooling of an IC high performance engine. A water jacket and pump is 4 century old tech. Nothing compared to the complexity of electronic fuel injection.

We can assume both on the New Buells! Yea!

Air cooled motorcycle engine produces less pollution than water cooled car engine.

After reading the disclaimer from Erik, this is starting to sound more like saga of Indian from the time they closed in 1953 until Polaris bought it in 2011. After they run out of parts are they going to start rebranding Royal Enfields?

It occurred to me that maybe TPs problem isn't with liquid cooled engines, it's with the antifreeze itself.

He drank too much of it as a child.

Griff: It's certainly possible you're right, but I think the earliest " tell" will be the promised touring pack option for the SX models. SXs were less popular among the EBRs, so making a kit to retrofit them to touring suggests you intend to sell more of the model. It's a low hurdle from an engineering standpoint, but does require a significant commitment of money towards making in quantity. If the kits look like something I welded up in my garage with a couple 20 mm ammo boxes bolted to it, then you might be right. If the end product is of quality fit and finish, and more importantly available as an aftermarket kit for existing SXs, (something I and Crusty pined for in our original reviews of the bike), at a price point that suggest production volume economy of scale, then I have no reason to doubt the commitment to future models.

And still... stickers..... Thats embarrassing

Any other OE I can think of now a days, would have their brand UNDER the clear. Or at the very least something more classy than a die-cut slap on single color. So cheesy: (

You have the balls to ask $20K for a bike engineered almost a decade ago? Details matter. A LOT.

Yeah... I call it "sticker shock"... the pre show pictures I got, I expected a graphic under the clear on the Carbon Sx.. still negotiating...

The bikes come delivered to a dealer near you that Buell sets up to accept and service the bike at delivery and after. One year parts and labor warranty is also included.

Out the door in Grand Rapids less the $500 delivery fee or you could pick up the bike, with set up service support in your area,, price for the Sx Carbon is $16,900 and another grand for the Rx.

Just sayin,,,,

For real? You complain about the graphic while the motorcycle has real problems?
