Heck- here I sit, engaged to be married, and I managed NOT to get my honey anything. For VD. All is well.
Back in the day, Stoopid Cupid Day would be a great $$$ day for my work. I got in the habit of telling all my tables "hey- EVERY day is Valentine's Day, right?" I always tried to amuse my guests into leaving a fat tip.
No love all day? Made it out to buy $84 of groceries, first item was a pretty nice $10 dozen of red roses. Now, my love is cooking up baked chicken 'sketti. I'll be making the garlic bread and some epic salads, mine with sprouts and serious blue cheese crumbles. Dressing options include asiago Caesar, killer ranch, or mackin' blue cheese.
I may have left the restaurant biz, but my skill set and instincts are intact. Hey, I figured that either I could stock the pantry with goodness for at least a week or 2, OR I could go out for dinner and blow the same or more $$$.
Being a single man, I'm content to snuggle up with my furbabies on this cold snowy day. I'm planning on going to my Aunt's tomorrow for some pork chops, hopefully the roads will be passable.
