This just came to my attention: https://www.buellmotorcycle.com/ The Facebook page "EBR Motorcycles" just changed its name, and referenced this page which is brand new. I haven't heard of anything... anyone know anything? Court? |

2021!!! Black Lightning !!!??!! Oh, sure; Wait until I'm heavily invested in the Gentleman's Express, then hit me with this news. You're just trying to drive me nuts! Well, it won't work for a couple of reasons. First; it would be a very short drive (but scenic!); and... Second; I'm already nuts! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! |

Old 'news'... I seem to recall some eyebrows raised - I thought here, but maybe FB - probably about a year ago. It seemed then that H-D was no longer interested in putting efforts into protecting the brand name. And now they have a shiny new website!!! (Message edited by 1313 on January 22, 2021) |

Jaimec, That hill climber was posted on their fb page awhile back. I'm betting that if they can build that, they could build a heck of a sport-tourer if you threw them enough money... ...And an adventure-tourer... |

Is LAP selling parts bin bikes? |

"Is LAP selling parts bin bikes?" If I had my guess I would say, probably, sort of,.. for now. They have purchased new runs of some of the parts they needed to complete more bikes, and I believe have made minor changes to some of the bodywork over the last couple years. There is a network of dealers listed on the website. I don't know if that's current or past EBR dealers, but they are looking for expansion opportunities. Bill Melvin Jr. did say in 2017 as long as it made money, he would keep it going. We all know there were some future models on the board before the liquidation. Only a few insiders could actually tell us how many and how far along they actually were, (and so far no one is talking). I do remember picking up the SX BETA prototype after the 2017 online auction. We walked by lots of bins, and my escort casually mentioned toward one full bin that caught my attention was "starters for a bike we never built." If LAP has the patience and Buell keeps afloat, we might yet see iterations of those other products. Brand identity revival might also might open a revenue stream for making "Genuine Buell " branded replacement parts, a sideline mentioned at the 2017 homecoming, by acting company CEO at the time, Steve Smith. I don't think he's affiliated with the company any more either. but that doesn't mean the idea isn't still under consideration. I see it in the same light as Indian motorcycles from Springfield ,Green Mountain, and Spirit Lake. Or in this case it might be closer to compare HD/Buells, and EBR/Buells, to the Studebaker era Avantis, vs the newer ones. We all know they were different companies, but most people don't care, they just smile and wave. I personally hope for their continued success, and growth. |

From the history page: “2021 EBR transitions back to Buell Motorcycle” Either HD doesn’t care, they gave up or sold the TM, or there’s an expiration date on unused branding. I doubt the latter. I suspect new management at HD doesn’t have a hard on for screwing Buell like the previous crew. |

Interesting. According to that, the only live Buell trademarks are for clothing and showerheads and assorted sundries. No motorcycles. |

EBR Ventures LLC (incorporated in Wisconsin 2015 Wisconsin, dissolved in 2020. If that's the LAP subsidiary in Wisconsin, that suggests there might be no more East Troy/ Mukwonago connection to the new owners. I wonder if Kim T. still has an office with them there. |

Harley-Davidson could care less. . . . they have their own challenges. I posted, several times over the past few years, schedules of all the expired, surrendered and abandoned trademarks and so forth. But . . . if someone would revive a "Made by Erik Buell and Elves" 1998 S1WL I'd be all over it. :-) I even want to see Brankin dressed up as a young summer intern in a hearse . . .

Hahahaha . . . I know where there are cases of leftover Race of Champions t-shirts, programs, photos and memorabilia. Scott, from Harley-Davidson, told me . . . when Erik was on the stage and Danno and Co. were lifting the sheet off the RW750 . . . "get rid of all this crap". Well, I did. In the back of my truck. The area where it has been stored for years will become an in home gym with the arrival of a contractor March 1 so . . . . . |

just to add fuel to the fire, Indian posted a "big announcement" teaser on their website a while back, for some time in feburary. Theres a couple indian guys on a forum who swear its related to a buell/indian merger, rekindling of the brand. Probably bullshit, but what's the internet without rumors? |
