One little ray of hope I got from the article is that Ducati might actually be coming into the 21st Century and replacing an unnecessarily complex Desmodromic valve actuation system with valve springs! The raid might be because Ducati was about to release information to Californians on how to make a decent pizza. |

"WOW! Thread turned political in 3 posts. WHAT THE •••• ?!?! Silly me, I thought this was a motorcycle forum... Can my monthly contributions to keep the lights on be considered political donations?" Didja expect any less? You could start a thread on underwater basket weaving, or the mating habits of arctic terns, it'd go political. It would be fascinating to do some brain studies on folks who are so fixated about politics. What percentage of incoming information is filtered through that lens. Heck, they've studied MRI data on folks playing violin, piano, etc.... why not? Psst... I for one would rather live my days thinking of endless other things more pleasant, say... motorcycles?? Time and place for everything, no? |

In the Dark Ages of Europe, literacy was often limited to monasteries, so the literature, news, editorials, was often filtered through a combination of religious focus, and a desire to sound smart, which meant using the device of Allusion, which was a big thing in Greek intellectual circles back in the First century AD. So a rose wasn't just red. It was "as red as the blood of Christ" and so forth. Basically you have to wade through everything that would now be called "virtue signalling", to get to the point. Just like you do listening to "news" Today. Most of the words are more about "Look how clever and Pious I am!" than content. Today it's more common in the format "The Politician from the other Party is Worse Than Hitler". Frankly I prefer the more flowery insults of the bad old days. It'd be great to hear "The Knave dips his quill in the bile of Lucifer, for all the Truth he dare not speak". And Anyone Raided by the FBI today is going to be assumed to be a Political Act, which is a horrible condemnation of the Agency and it's leaders. So... was Ducati raided for tax fraud? Or political Incorrectness? |

We do not have a single Ducati dealership here in Seattle for many years already. It is especially counterintuitive considering how many capable to pay people with deep pockets live here. https://www.seattletimes.com/business/local-business/5-local-motorcycle-dealerships-abruptly-closed-by-their-owner-a-microsoft-executive/ https://www.seattletimes.com/business/local-busine ss/lawsuit-microsoft-manager-turned-motorcycle-dea lers-firms-owed-millions-of-dollars-on-new-bikes/ (Message edited by TPEHAK on January 09, 2021) |

Duly noted, Matthew. I could have simply stuck with the thread subject. At the time of my OP, yes, I was infuriated that a lawless mob, incited by Trump, had desecrated our Nation's Capitol. Funny how few here on BW have posted to the "Patriot" thread recently. |

incited by Trump ...and USHERED THROUGH OPEN GATES BY POLICE. Did you watch the videos, Brad? A picture is worth 1,000 words... desecrated our Nation's Capitol Two comments there. First, our POLITICIANS desecrated the capitol long ago. Second, isn't it amazing how a couple broken windows and FOUR dead generates all this shitstorm...while a summer full of burning cities, looted businesses, and COUNTLESS dead and injured "in the name of reform" is simply brushed off as "peaceful"? I am absolutely a patriot, and this shit your party is pulling is inexcusable. It will send us down the road to becoming another disaster shithole like Venezuela, or Cuba, or get us long lines for medical coverage like Canada. Your party, and the people who support it, are to blame. My predictions are on the record - let's see how this turns out. This is more than Twatter accounts. This is more than Orange Man Bad. This is the destruction of the greatest nation on the planet. Willful, purposeful, malicious destruction. And I'm not talking about the people who were ushered into the Capitol building last week. I'm talking about the openly-marxist "Democratic Socialists", who are calling for the blatant destruction of our nation. |

Hahahaha . . . . Whatever the Feds did worked. I just bought 2 Les Pauls and they are the best Gibson’s I’ve bought since 1971. Go Feds It will be interesting to see what Ducati is up to. I recall all the scandal when they moved to CA from NJ. |

Court, I don't know if you have checked out this guy's site but you might like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X0YflQT3Ew&ab_cha nnel=RhettShull Just curious as to how many guitars you own? I own less than 2 dozen at this point and I am thinking I need try to play more (I suck). Just FYI I don't own any Gibsons. I come from an engineering background and some of the Gibson features suck i.e.: the crazy headstock angle and the nut to tuning peg angle. I became intrigued with PRS guitars. The thing I don't like about Gibson and PRS both is the gloss neck finish. It tends to make sliding up and down the neck "sticky". G |
