I decided this year that I would rather be a Faithful Pillion on Jerry’s bike rather than ride my own on our trips. We traded both the Versys we had for a new one that has more options. BUT...I still have these gems to ride. The 125 has license and insurance so I can still head to town if I wanna. The 140 dirt bike has yet to get very dirty. Carol
Crusty, I have all the driving credentials I had before, it took a while, in GA as long as I don't have a seizure Im gold. If I do, they'll tell the state and I will have o go 6 months seizure free. I've got a minibike that's a hoot. I've got a trail buggy that's capable and is fun as hell. I drive Ann's car to Phil's and back, and that's about it. As far as ridiing goes, My left arm has it's own way of doing things. It sometimes jumps violently, sometimes my hand burrns, and then other times it decides to d nothing. I've had 2 surgeries on my elbow and forearm. I've beeen on Gabapentin and the pain is almost gone, and the cooperation of my left has gotten better and not so violent. I'm not optimistic, mainly because my neurologist said it's chronic, and will stay as it is, or get worse. It's called chronic left ulnar neuropathy and guess what, it's got noting to do with my brain damage. It's genetic. Thanks Dad!
Gabapentin. Both of my dogs are on it, 30mg each. Glad it helps, brother. Any words on its effects? One of the worst things about owning/living with dogs is that they can't talk to you. Of course we all know dogs that would have a LOT to say if possible.
I knew you'd be jammin' on at least a fiddy out there in the woods, BTW.
I had Shingles for two months last year and have been numb on the left side of my face ever since, sometimes I can't feel my lip and chin.My right lower leg and foot are numb as well, but nothing to do with the Shingles.I take 2700 mg of Gabapentin a day.Very minor compared to the issues your dealing with Dave.
Since it's supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow,I went out for a last ride of 2020 in the misting rain, but at least it was 60°. RIP 20 freakin' 20!
Any words on its effects? It's been the best thing for me. I was in pain most of the tiime. All I wanted was one day pain free, and now I go days without pain. I just started on it, it did make me sleepy at first, but didjn't last vert long. I'm up to 900 right now, but he wamts to go a little higher and see if I can go longer without pain. Since I've been on it, my antidepresssant has gone down. Winning!
It look's like the second stretch of passing lane on northbound 129,which is close to the middle of the Cooler Run. From TWOS go south on 60,north on 19,north on 129,west on 180 and south on 60 back into TWOS.
My last ride of the year was yesterday. Raining most of the day today, but I did put a new battery in the Uly and fire it up for a minute, so there’s that.
Happy New Year to all y’all Buellers!

My last ride of the year was at Buelltoberfest. My first ride of this year will be at MayBuellMadness or whatever we're calling it.
I'm making the final payment on the Spyder today, on the big screen in my living room as we all raise a glass to getting rid of one more debt.
I only ride with BadWebBers. I've been trying to sell the Z for years... not trying very hard, but when it finally goes I guess I'll get motivated to fix up the KLR.
The VA has me on two 300 mg. Gabapentin every six hours for neuropathy related to breaking my neck in 2001. Lyrica works best but it’s not dispensed at the VA. Then they put me on Tramadol... OMG it’s an OPIATE!!! So now I’m on Gaba. I take two, doc says I can take up to five every 6 hours. Boggles the mind.
Tramadol is one of the milder opiates. I told doc. I wanted as mild as would work after surgery a couple of months ago. They gave me a Dilaudid and let me walk out with a script for tramadol. I only took 17 of the 25. Half life of Tramadol is 6 hours. Pain would kick back in at about 5 hours. I do not like the meds.
You do have a point. My local brewery was forced to open and close so many dang times last year I had to switch from their delicious 16oz draft to 12oz cans. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!
At least they range from the high 8%'s so one will kill my pain pretty well.
Got out for a brief local backroads ride yesterday... SO nice to get my knees in da breeze, if only for 60-70 miles. Wasn't much more than a mile away as I approached an intersection with a newly sprouted Dollar General (they're popping up like mushrooms around here). Saw at a distance the first car pull out, then... the next, who barely slowed as she pulled out RIGHT in front of me. I had already anticipated a$$hattery, slowed, and had bird deployed by the time she first noticed. Almost decided to turn around and have a brief chat with her at the DG.
Haven't you heard?
I then proceeded to have a nice ride through Happy Valley over to Chilhowee Lake, then onward to Calderwood Dam Overlook. Lots of traffic at Deal's Gap, as usual. Had a nice chat with a couple riding a triked Valkyrie, fella was retired Air Force MP. Then rode back on Foothills Parkway, stopped to visit a best buddy enjoying a fire and beverages, then back home to go to a huge dinner with another bestie and my neighbor. Not a bad start to 2021.
RD- I've actually been thinking about a Roadcrafter suit, high viz yellow...
Crusticle, naah, been called worse. I'm smarter than I look.
Well, youn's be the judge. Here's some pics from when we went to M's granddaughter's homecoming at Tennessee Tech... their mascot is the Golden Eagle. Actually picked this up on the way that morning at a Wally World. On discount!
