I had a...spirited discussion, shall we say, with my mother last night. 83 years old, church choir, community chorus, plays tennis 3x a week, gardens, walks 2 miles a day, ex-physical therapist, surgeon father, surgeon brother. She's freaking out about case counts in FL. I told her to think about that for a minute - then I asked her "how many people do you know who have died from this?" "um...none, I guess...but I don't know anyone who's caught it." EXACTLY. Then, she threw the number at me for her area...I forget what it was, but it was like 1400 total cases for her town. I told her "OK, now multiply that by .006, and that is the number of people who could potentially die from it, in your age group, according to the CDC". She's still fixated. And I'm still sick of this shit. Zac - glad to hear the good news about your family. Everyone I know who's had it (whatever that term means, with the state of test results) reports flu-like symptoms for a couple days, then a few weeks without taste or smell, and that's it. All have recovered just fine, with no lasting symptoms or problems. Like his politics or not, Musk is a pretty smart guy. For him to say "an order of magnitude less"...that's saying something. The man knows math. |

I'll let y'all know how it goes. My son and grand-daughter have tested positive. As well as his father-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and his uncle-in-law. The uncle is in ICU on a ventilator. Cody after a week is feeling a little better. Charlotte on the other hand is doing a little worse. All have no sense of taste, which is really hard on Charlotte since she doesn't know why, or even wants to eat flavorless food. She'll be 3 in April. I don't know what to think, I feel for them all. |

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/11/the_g reat_covid_reset.html Good luck to all the relatives. In my prayers. For the 3 year old, maybe some citrus juice? Orange juice acidity might help or hurt with the flavorless problem. Texture? |

FU(K. THIS. https://www.wmdt.com/2020/11/breaking-gov-larry-ho gan-announces-new-covid-19-restrictions-statewide/ 1,000 hospital beds statewide for "COVID patients". But dipshit Hogan says that is "nearing capacity"??? In a state of more than 5.7M people?? I am SO over this bullshit. Survival rates (**IF** infected), according to the Almighty CDC: Age Recovery % 0-19 99.997% 20-49 99.98% 50-69 99.5% 70+ 94.6% But, what the hell...let's SHUT DOWN THE STATE. AGAIN. Such a crock of shit. Appropriate time to post this link: https://youtu.be/91JFExJYyqU Tucker's show last night. EXCELLENT monologue. |

Ho. Lee. Chit. “This is not about COVID anymore. This is about a reset of everything. And the United States of America is in the way right now of all of it, so they are destabilizing our entire country,” Matt said. “The name of the game now is to bring the United States economy to its knees, get it out of the way, so that everyone will want ‘The Great Reset,’” Matt stated. Yeah. This is all about "science" and "health". My ass. |

I think Covid is real. We had a scare at the brewery the other day. A chef came into work with no symptoms and no fever. Four hours later he was leaving in an ambulance hardly being able to breath. This weekend I experienced sinus draining, dizziness and total lack of energy. I felt pretty good today and am going to get tested tomorrow. I still have my sense of taste and smell and never coughed or sneezed the whole weekend. I don't think it was Covid but I don't want to be a carrier if I just had a mild case. |

Covid is "real", I don't deny that. It is contagious. It is also - according to the CDC - 99.969% recoverable. Or, to put it another way - it is potentially deadly for four HUNDREDTHS of one percent of the people who catch it. (Not people in general..but the people who actually catch it). If high school math still serves me correctly...that would be four people out of every 10,000 - who actually HAVE the disease (not population in general). That, to me, is no reason to lock down, punish, or put out of business, the entire population of a state, or a nation. If governors want to stay home...fine, they can. If elderly want to stay home, fine. If "at-risk" people want to stay home, fine. They all can. But don't force the rest of us to do it. "You get what you allow". https://patriotnewsfeed.com/trump-medical-adviser- starts-resistance-movement-after-whitmer-locks-it- down-you-get-what-you-accept/ ...and Fauci is saying we should keep distancing and wearing masks EVEN AFTER there's a vaccine? I don't think so. I'm just about done with the "allowing". (Message edited by ratbuell on November 18, 2020) |

This is not about the China Virus which unfortunately is real. This is about raw tyrannical power to turn the populace to obedient sheeple. Americans are not and never have been sheeple but the propagation of fear is literally destroying America. Look at China as to how the oligarchs desire the population to behave. We are becoming China. |

So, I did some math last night, thanks to my governor's latest mandate. Maryland has approximately 5.8M residents (5.778M and change). Right now, we have 1000 COVID patients in hospitals (state wide), with approximately 255 in ICU wards. Out of 5.8 MILLION people. *IF* every single person in Maryland catches the virus, at the CDC's 99.969 overall recovery rate...we could potentially lose 1,798 people. Total. Statewide. 1,798. 5,800,000 total population (rounded up, admittedly) 5,798,202 would recover just fine (99.969% of the total population) 1,798 people could die. Let that sink in. And, that PADS the death number because a) I have rounded UP the overall population a bit for easier math, and b) not everyone is going to catch it, but these numbers presume 100% penetration. More likely, the total penetration (from numbers I recall seeing in a couple articles that I can't place right now) puts penetration numbers around 90% - but I'm figuring the 1,798 on 100% penetration just to help make the point. We have - once AGAIN - shut down the economy and livelihood of FIVE POINT EIGHT MILLION PEOPLE. Nothing open past 10pm. Nothing over 10 people gathered together. No elective (non-life-threatening) medical procedures. No Thanksgiving family gatherings allowed from more than 2 households, and no gatherings over 10 people total (what if you have a large, extended family??). Because - by the CDC's own estimation - 1,798 people could die from this virus. Out of 5,800,000. Now, I'm not saying 1,798 is nothing. Death sucks. But...let's get some perspective. And admittedly, I need to drill down on some numbers here - but I'd love to know: How many businesses have been "killed" by these shutdown orders? Restaurants. Bars. Small stores. Salons. Ma and Pa places that have been around for decades. How many employees of those businesses have lost their source of income - lost their livelihood? How many people have lost their homes, because they lost their jobs, because of these lockdowns? How many people have committed suicide, or otherwise died (no elective procedures, reduced medical care from limited office visits for things like cancer), because of these lockdown rules? What's the impact on quality of life because of this - children, in their formative years? Young families? Elderly, who need support and can't afford a "home"? How does that compare, to the 1,798 COVID death estimate? How much worse than the disease, is the cure? And why in God's name, are we still putting up with it? |

Dead is dead. Where do you come up with this shit? You think people who lost their jobs, who can't feed their family, who can't pay their mortgage and have lost a place to live...you think that's quick and painless? Do you think it's OK to kill people that way, in order to "protect" people from the virus? |

I call bullshit on the pain argument. Death is death. Which is resulting in more bodies? Right now, it ain't the virus. Period. That, my friend, is MATH. Plain and simple. Your pain argument has zero do do with this. Hide in your basement if you want, and try to avoid the virus. But don't you DARE try and tell me what I can and can't do. Now, go troll somewhere else. We're all sick of your shit. |

Let 'em die in NY. Or, they can leave and Cuomo and DiBlasio can rule over an empty tundra, with no tax base income, resembling something you'd see on "Mysteries of the Abandoned" on TV. Our President already said in a presser (last week, I think), that "the vaccine should be available for release by January, everywhere except New York, where the Governor says he wants to put it through his own testing before allowing it to be used in his state". (paraphrased). Trump cures COVID. Headline: "Trump forces thousands of doctors and hospitals out of business". |

My post was not directed at anyone here. I had just watched some guy claiming that there was no virus. He was in Europe somewhere. He believed it was all fake, which it's not. However, my Illinois governor, "Fat Bastard", (no offense to Jeremy), is shutting down the whole State again. Fortunately in my area they have thumbed their nose at him and are staying open. I was at Denny's the other day and saw two Police Officers having breakfast. I love it! |

I'd like to see the same response here in the People's Republik of Maryland. However...I'm not holding my breath. Traffic has been...nonexistant this week. My normal stop-and-go commute home? Has been an easy 65mph through the congested spot. AM commute? 80mph, no problem, just point and roll. The Sheeple are staying home - "because he said so". Sheesh. And we wonder why the USA is going down the shitter. |
