yep yep yep I looked at Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II. Every one wants $350 for a set. Dennis K has a set of the old Pirelli Diablo Rosso II for $200. When my mileage gets as low as the Rosso II, I start to think about putting the bike on a trailer for the highway miles. |

My pants still fit so I doubt I've gained much! Ourdee, don't bother with the Rossos, get the Angels instead. Last twice as long and are just as grippy for street riding. |

Whew... my work week is over. LONG week, especially after such a short/fun/awesome time hanging with youn's. I've still got Jim's 'cue on hand, I've stripped and chopped the rib meat for sammiches. DANG but those were big ribs! I missed the brisket by exactly ONE person, that person was Barker, my gas fairy. I insisted he order ahead of me, bought his lunch and I still owe him for such heroic efforts. Thanks to all who kindly hung out/helped as I learned EXACTLY what my fuel range is. The PC's gas gauge is, ahem, a bit off. I'd hoped for a bit more riding time over the stay at TWoS, but... nevermind. The Metzeler ME888's felt great, and this was my first real trip with real saddle time on this new bike. I'd owned a first year PC800 quite some time ago, as I remember that one didn't quite run out as nice as this one. The powertrain is based on the Shadow VT800 platform, so it's not really gonna stretch my arms or flatten my eyeballs. I'd say that the old adage "it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow" is proven with my PC800. I'm still puzzling over how I might effectively turn it into a "sleeper". This particular bike is way too clean an example to futz with too much though. Maybe I could plumb the intakes for nitrous... Handling. One of my first pleasant remembrances was how dang good it burns curves. It takes a weird set of tires- 17" front, 15" back, both plenty wide for enuf meat on the road. I used to run Deal's Gap regularly on my first one. Brakes are a mixed bag- dual discs front, a kinda dead drum out back. If I can find the best front pads available, maybe convert to stainless steel lines, that would be optimal. Some money spent on the suspension might be nice one day too. My old PC had a Corbin seat which I really liked- still mulling over my best seat options. I'd benefit from a bit more loft to help my knees, but then I'd probably need to futz with a taller windscreen, which I'd rather not. Planning on ordering a Ukrainian luggage rack, heard they're the tits. If I got super-lucky, I'd LOVE to find a color-matched Uni-Go trailer. Well, heck, RD and I could probably design a better one (leaving fabrication to his esteemed talents.) To sum things up, I'm really happy with the Pacific Coast. Lucked into it, never thought I'd find another one, much less in this condition. I'm now faced with another problem... what to do with my beloved 1977 R75/7. I'll probably end up selling it to someone who deserves it more than I. To do right by that rare bird would require more money, time and skill than I'll ever have. I've gotten plenty of joy out of it so far... time to pass it forward. (With a 1st dibs buyback clause, visitation rights, yadda yadda...) To top things off, the good folks at TWoS had held onto the one thing I HAD to recover from not returning last time... my Yeti beer can koozie. M had given that to me as a gift, and I'd not heard the end of it until now. Sipping a cold one now, as I type. Life is good, my brethren. So good to see you all. Blessed be to you all, hope to see youn's again soon in the new year (86 2020, phleeeze.) |

Oh, and BTW I remember lots of shenanigans that weekend years ago! I lost track of the buddy who tossed the HD off Wolf-Pen Gap... cool dude we've not seen and should someday. That might've been the weekend Vern made the Ben-Gay discovery/revelation. |

Brad - that PC is nice one. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor!! A 15" rear .. that's a bit of an odd ball size. For the R75 .. there is a shop near Athens GA that works/restores/sells BMW airheads. It's a ways from you but whatever you decide to do with it I bet they can help. Met Nathan up in the hills a few months ago. Great guy. https://boxerworks.org/ |

Video was not me .. I'm not that good at dragging the hard bit's of a Uly. Forget his name but the kid on the DR400 .. binged it going down RR trying to keep up. I didn't see it , just came up on the aftermath. Guess it was kinda spectacular but he emerged w/o a scratch and just a bent handlebar on the DR. we tried to talk him into going back but he wanted to keep going. Fran and I were behind him on 75 .. not long after I made a very sketchy pass on a car, its the only time I have seen target fixation in real life. Coming up on a turn on 75, just at the point he should turn, he didn't .. just went straight. He wasn't going into the corner to hot, just didn't turn. Fran and I stopped to help. During the sliding he had broke his wrist BAD . It was while Fran and I were picking up the DR that had stopped just short of going off the cliff that I stared looking around and oddly for the first time had really looked around and realized, its a LONG way down and then thought how many times I had zinged around that same corner. |

I can't remember the guy on the left's name. Connie (Bambi) is in front of Ann and I. Beside me is Phil (Smokescreen) The there'sCharlie (new12r) holding Hayden. Behind Charlie, is Mike (Odie). Way in the back with the dome is Mike (Shred). In front of him are Dan (Kdan) and Ashley (Scooter). Behind Ashley is the kid with the DR, he came with Odie. Beside himm is Matt (Sanchez). Then you have Amy. Behind her is Dave (LightningDave) Then there's Fran (Frandog) and Kathy. That's it! I'm going to hold a 3%ers mostly peaceful protest! |

Not that you're not a great friend. You were key in getting me out of the house. I think maybe the car show we went to was my first real outings. Or at least the first outing that I remember most. We have a picture together at that show, but I can't find it Maybe you still have it? |

I never need parts from Stone Mountain because I had such a close relationship with Earl Smalls HD/Buell,also when your in a crowd of people, sometimes introductions get overlooked because you assume people already know one another. I think during a lot of those times ya'll were hanging out in the evening at TWO we were down the road at Joe's cabin across from C3 Central doing our own thing. 3%er's girls....you can say that again! Fond memories all the way around! |
