That looks similar the one that was at Buell, behind the curtains in R&D... |

I've built recumbents before. Largest engine I put on one was a 550 4 cylinder. I need to come up with a skinny motor tranny combo. |

I've seen a couple of those at TWoS in the past... Maybe I'll go up there this weekend and see if Jim's ribs are still any good. Maybe throw a hammock up and hang out, drink a few sandwiches and take a nap. |

I've always been intrigued by Gurney's work. I'd LOVE to try out an Alligator. Wonder if there are kits?? |

I think the company is still around. I don't know who owns it. I believe the bikes go for $30k +. |

The A-1 version a.k.a. "Grandpa Gator" was built on a Honda XL350 platform in 1976.

Yeah; but Velvet Smoke is only a couple of miles from my house. One of these times I'm going to have to try their ribs; I keep getting the Burnt Ends. |

I think you will be disappointed with the ribs. |

Why? Have you tried them? |

Nope. I just know how good Jim's are and how good Velvet's burnt ends are. The expectations are high. I am guessing they will be above middle of the road ribs. I doubt they are Jim's level. I usually eat Jim's without sauce. I think Velvet will need sauce. And while their sauce is good on burnt ends, it takes a level of sophistication in meat from cradle to rack that Jim has to pull off the miraculous. I do not think they have the same pigs to begin with. I am just trying to take the pressure off Velvet that I personally have laid up in my mind. I still have high hopes. |

Alternative opinion: FUGLIEST M/C ever made. Honda’s built some odd stuff over the years but the PCH is in the same league as the Nissan Juke. Vomit ugly |

LOL!!! Zac, it's all good. I also hate the Juke. Most vehicles built/designed as of past years are fugly. One exception, IMHO, is the Lexus SC430... I'd LOVE to score one of those, Pebble Beach edition. FWIW, now I gotta study on how to make this thing a bit quicker. I remember that it handles well in the twisties, but it currently is running Dunlops, not my fave brand. This will be my 2nd PC800- once owned a first year '89 model, which came with 2 tone white pearl. |

Hey, I owned a Honda Element, who am I to judge!! The PC was a bit of a Swiss army knife, sort of like my Element. Nothing to look at but very versatile. Definitely function over form! |

Yep, it's a do-it-all street bike. Now strip that beemer down to the bolts and restore it from the ground up. |

Matthew, yes sir. Given that I now work for a powdercoating operation... hmmm. What might I get to do? My abilities as a mechanic are fair, not impressive. What I've gathered about being an old Beemer owner is that you should be able to service the whole dang thing. I guess I'm on my way. I did find room in the shed for both bikes, comfortably. Also- I texted my mechanic about my new acquisition. He knows it down to the frame. We have a common pair of friends who just happened to create a track bike out of a wadded up PC800. |
