WTF Jim?!?! If you're in my area, holler! I'd be happy to put you up if need be in my office/junk room/2nd bedroom. Now that I'm working M-F, 7am to 4pm, I'd be happy to have a long lost buddy stop in. At least PM me and I'll try to put you on some good eats. Vern's about 45 minutes away from me in New Market TN.
Hi Jim. Glad to see you getting some time off. I'm 50 miles from the Dragon. Tons of other fun rides around here. Ha! Do you realize I met you on the Dragon some 13 or 14 years ago?
Jim- Deal's Gap is basically in my backyard, about 20 miles as the crow flies. One of my fave rides is to just take one of two great roads that run from my neighborhood, up a back way to the middle of the old section of Foothills Parkway, then run down to the end at Chilhowee Lake, turn left, then just cruise until Tabcat Bridge... at that point turn it up a bit. If you're around this coming weekend, be sure to let me and Vern know. Oh, and what Vern said too.
A run down to Tellico Plains for lunch at Tellico Grains Bakery or Tellico Beach Drive In on the river, before starting the Cherohala would be ideal as well.
Well I'm headed out to Deals Gap after I leave WVBR on Sunday. Haven't made any decisions on where I'm staying or anything like that. I guess I'll figure that shit out next week in WV.
I'm taking the Wing and towing the Benelli with me.
That is if I can get the Wing ready. I have to rebuild the calipers and master cylinders. The only thing I haven't fixed is the brakes/clutch. I have the rebuild kits for everything. Just have to get off my ass and get it done.
Yeah; me too! I almost backed out when my mower died and I had to use the money I'd saved for the Revival to buy another one. But I decided that I could find a way and so I did.
a- the PC needs tires/carb work, luggage rack, maybe a couple other things
b- too soon to ask off TR/FRI from my new job
c- I'd really like to have my riding buddy Vern along, highly unlikely
I should easily be able to make it down to Suches in October, where I'd probably go for one of those little new cabins. We shall see. In the meantime, youn's have a great time and be safe, BE SAFE. I'm really gonna miss another epic round of Firepit Jenga. In a slight contradiction to what I said, safety second- someone's gotta be lobbing empty screwcap beer cans at the firepit, no?
