Yep, USED to be a celebration of our nations freedom from oppression and government tyranny. Now? I guess the constant media pandemic bombardment and 'you must do this' edicts is getting to me. Suck it up, turn off the TV and enjoy family and maybe an adult beverage or 2. You all do the same. | ||

Amen to that. Despite all the BS flying around, this is still the best place on earth. We just need to keep it that way. Ol' Glory flies on my porch every day, with pride. Thanks, and respect, to all those who fought for her Glory - those like my father (Cdr.-USN/Ret.) who came home, and especially those who never got to come home again. Happy independence day Brothers and Sisters in the Greatest country on Earth! I have had a breakfast of hotdogs and hot sauce and am ready to roll. Later today it will be lemonade, roasted red potatoes and corn on the cob. The pulled pork needs only to be reheated and I picked up some award winning sauce from Velvet Smoke yesterday. You know the watermellon is in the fridge. Lil Red and I may putt around a little. Later judging from the pre-detonations the sky in my hood should be spectacular. Once again I had to work through the fourth and my birthday. Shit! So tonite I'm grilling. A lot! I don't get time, or uninterrupted time to do it often, so I grille a lot and freeze it. It's been a while. I'm disturbed that I didn't get a picture of my birthday wheelie. Now that grilling part. Is it time to put down the beer? I running out and in frequently beer in hand, ice cold going down smoothly. Knees are getting wobbly and I'm feeling a nice light headed buzz. Still cooking. Food tastes great! Getting it all wrapped in foil as it is coming in. It smells great! Wish I didn't have work at 7am! Been so long I forgot how to drink! Lol |
