I know you're saying, Court, but...we have to start with a consistent deterrent effect. Cops kneeling with rioters? Not deterrent. Mayors saying a 6-block takeover is a like a "block party"? Not deterrent. Elected officials - including our President - need to grow a pair, and shut this shit down. Now. And in doing so, they need to make it clear that if you want to protest, you are welcome and encouraged to do so. But if you lift one finger in anger; spray paint one dot on a national monument (I helped BUILD the WWII memorial - I installed all the lighting and dimming controls for ALL the fountain and walkway lighting when it was built); throw one bottle at law enforcement; break one storefront window...as soon as you do ANY of those things that take you from "peaceful protest" to "angry mob", you WILL be arrested. We need rule of law. That starts with lawmakers, and it starts with law enforcement. Let's get to it. | ||
