Chrysler gave me some Gulfstream rides back in the day. I loved flying in them. Things are fast. |

Hmmm... I didn't know they had done this to you, that's kind of $hitty. Why didn't they just take a stock unit apart and measure it and maybe think of a way to improve it??? The intake flanges are way different, looks like they added chrome plating, makes all the difference in the world. Having had things I've designed get stolen and sold on eBay, I can understand how one might be bitter. Especially aggravating because Twin should have been skilled enough to design their own parts. |

Like I said above, I'm not bitter or upset, just disappointed. I was trusting enough to allow people to receive a shaft and make sure they liked it before they paid for it. All the bikers I knew up till then were all trustworthy folks. Well after 3 people refused to pay me after they received them I realized how nieve I was. So I wouldn't be a very good businessman, good thing I didn't go that route! |

"If the part lacked proper IP protection it was pretty well tossed into the public domain" Lots of us work in the protected IP world, and Court couldn't be more correct. If you feel you've been rashed, depending on how "disappointed" you are, you could minimize the burning and itching they caused, by posting spec drawings of any copied items you are not duly credited for, offering them up as a gift to the Buell community. IT reduces your potential sales but it reduces your competitors too. I know thats like cutting off your nose to spite your face, but it might at least get you an honorable mention from your imitators, which might aid in healing... There is the potential side effect of an imitator actually securing your idea, (Can you prove, and can you afford to pay counsel, to prove it?), with patents for preventing anyone else from selling them. ( including you), but the rest of us would be free to continue making our own for ourselves and friends. |

I'm not worried about it. Let's just say I believe in Karma. If this were my livelihood then I'd have a problem but fortunately that's not the case. |
