It is the "real deal"! I feel bad for you on the diabetes. I was as good as it looks. I learned all about molasses and biscuits in East Tennessee where I graduated the 6th grade. One of the best desserts I have ever had. When you ain't got much and you get that, priceless! |

Went to the Secretary of State office yesterday to change my address on my license and auto registration. In and out in under 10 minutes! That's a huge WIN!!! |

Problem with that is I've got too many irons in the fire. That is incredible. Price is sweet. |

Late lunch is going on right now. Ham, collard greens, and sweet tea. I have been blessed. |

I remember my old R65- it had its problems, but still a very nice ride. Learned Deal's Gap on that thing. Well, maybe down the line you'll find a nice K75 instead. |

I got lucky again. I watch for free pavers. The more I collect the less I have to mow. I have been working on the front of my house making area beside the porch look like a wrought iron fence enclosed patio. I have a gap between the black granite and the fence of 3 feet. I had 30 square feet of grey pavers, but that wasn't going to be enough to fill in. This morning I was gifted another 60 square feet of the same pavers.
I added them to my material staging area.

My garage has an aluminum door. I notice I had a couple of 4X8 sheets of foam board in a trailer in my backyard. Today I installed them in my door.
It felt instantly warmer in there.

I've had the new spark plugs for Lil Red for a little while now. I keep thinking the garage is too cold. that is the excuse I have been using........ |

Our old house has been on the market for 4 weeks now. Got a couple of low-ball offers that we counter offered on with no bites. Got another one Monday AM, but at least no other BS attached. We decided to take the offer. Our realtor said we had till 5:00, and to wait it out. He reached out to other realtors that had shown the house and had people show interest, but no action. Sure enough, one of them put in a bid. By 4:30 we had an offer above our asking price. Clean offer with no contingencies or other stipulations. Closing on April Fools day! Pretty happy with that! |

Good stuff! We had a bidding war break out with 5 people when we left Illinois. Sold the house almost a year early in a down market. I lived in a hotel till a buddy of mine had an apartment open for me. |

Plus, we sold for $40K more than we bought it for 3.5 years ago. Of course, there's closing costs and realtor fees, but we'll see a nice profit. |

Send some of that mojo my way! My tenants moved out (after 8 years) back at the end of September. I'm STILL cleaning up, updating, and fixing. I should have it on the market by March 1. The place across the street sold for 10k less than I'm opening my price for, and it is literally half the house (square footage, usable space, lot size). My price segment is hot right now according to my realtor...here's hoping for a quick and dirty bidding war to get it off my monthly budget! I have decent equity at my asking price...just hoping it skyrockets given all the work I've put into it over the last few months. |

I hope. Last night I ground out damaged shower grout (about half a showers' worth before my bit died) due to all the mold and crap they never cleaned up, and re-grouted with "warm silver" colored grout. Much better. I haven't been using white grout in forever, but I did this bathroom years ago before I made that change. All my rentals now have dark colored grout, to combat lazy tenants and mold. Gotta get a new bit to finish it up...and I'll be taking my range ear protection. Dremels, in tile showers, are L-O-U-D. |

Sometimes we make our own luck. Homemade egg bread the day before so that french toast will have a good base today.

I made oatmeal for breakfast-1/2 cup oats,1/4 tsp. salt, 1 cup water for 5 minutes. Oh look, frozen blackberrys from last fall-1/2 cup in the oats for 2 more minutes. Oooh, 1 ounce cream cheese mixed with 1/4 tsp. home made vanilla extract and 2 tsp. sugar. then mixed into oatmeal. WOW! I was going to look for surgical gloves. There was a birthday card from ACE hardware for $10.00. I signed up when the wrecker company had me buy paint there 2 years ago. I went there and bought 200 pairs of gloves. I paid four dollars. |
