Waiting for the broker to confirm the air freight booking. If/when it comes through, I'll be off to Durham NC so I can pickup tomorrow morning and push straight on to Miami. Fingers crossed. |

Make sure you A/C works . . . . I rode 30 miles today and it was delightful . . . Headed into the mid-90’s midweek. Safe travels. I assume you’re bright enough to avoid BBQ in Florida. . . . Hahaha |

When I was on the road in 2015, I ate at a little BBQ joint in Bonifay, Florida and it was pretty good Q. That was in western Florida in the panhandle. Maybe the food is better there than in the main part of the state. Try to find some real Key Lime pie. It's worth the trip all by itself. |

Poo on the Que. Keep your eye on the pie. And I never opened the package. I was requested to witness one being opened after I delivered it. She was beautiful. Yes. she was in the package. Had a broken index finger. Nough said. |

Crusty, Bonifay is about an hour from me. I think I will go searching for the place this weekend just to see. and this part of Florida is not like the rest of the state. this is more Alabama-ish…but with Florida tax benefits. |

The name of the place I ate in was M&W BBQ and I was there in late October of 15. I had to look it up in a Snippet I wrote back then. I don't remember a whole lot about it except that it beat the hell out of Sonny's BBQ (which is on a par with Arby's Roast Beef IMO). The panhandle has some really beautiful country. |

Just remember, real key lime pie is WHITE, not green. Maybe pale yellow. If you want to make your own, get some Nellie and Joe's Key Lime Juice - that, condensed milk, and a crust...and you'll have one helluva pie. |

Sitting here waiting for my freight to be ready. The consignee closes at 2200. I should be leaving here by 0915. It's going to be tight. I really don't want to spend the night in Miami, but may have to.

Got my freight off last night, tried to find fuel for 2 hours and had to keep moving... because it seemed like they were filming episodes of Cops on every other corner. Helicopters, car chases, major accident/possible crime scene... I felt like I was back in Long Beach. Figured a way to sling up my hammock in the cargo box, so I slept like a baby. Only thing missing was the giant turtle. OMW home now. |

Thanks for the Glympse, Matt. My day has been reduced to staring at your progress. Would rather seeing you Glympse back to Prescott after we are all sanitized. Laurie and I really enjoyed your visit. |

I'm glad you enjoyed my visit because I sure as heck did. Cada de Reindog was definitely the high point of my trip. I stayed with Don in Phoenix on my way out but it was dark when I got there and still dark when I left so other than some good conversation and a couple of stuff drinks before bed time, I didn't get to really visit. I sorted out how to hang a hammock in the back of the sprinter on this trip. I slept like a baby, and the insulated cargo box seals out almost all outside noise. Bliss. |

Hah!! Years ago I owned a 1970 Volkswagen Transporter. Bought it for $500, spent another $500 for a new motor. My best friend had a mother who lived in an intentional community up in the Ozarks, we decided to go visit. The original plan was to take out the middle bench seat, lay down a futon for the one not driving to rest. Well, that didn't work, as the summer heat plus the fact that we were lying over the motor made it a bit uncomfortable. At a rest stop, I discovered that if I tied my camping hammock diagonally between a rear door hinge and a front seat belt loop, one could hang in the hammock as the other drove down the road. Bliss. We made it to see her mom. Last stop before heading back home in Knoxville was Nashville for the 2nd year of Lollapalooza. Alice In Chains was the next to last act, Primus finished it out. If I've not much left to do here before the Grim Reaper gets me, I've had myself a time. |
