Some things you've said make it clear that you are rejecting reality though. Would you care to state what that might be? G As an example, dismissing contact tracing as being worthwhile. It's SOP with infectious diseases, and proven effective. No, it's not easy. Another example, is dismissing the videos I've posted as "chicken little" videos without watching any of them. The provide up to date information about what's going on with this virus. Calling them chicken little is a rejection of reality. In all seriousness Greg, this is turning into a silly argument between us. That's not my intent at all. My intent is simply to make it easier to stay informed. Trump's fault for promoting fracking in N.Dakota. Chinese death virus? Trump's fault for closing the border. Or not closing the border. Or Baron made it in the secret laboratory under the Lincoln Memorial. Or whatever lie was fed them today. You can't even be sure there was a tornado. Not if they lie about everything else. Coverage of Covid-19 is hysterical, pompous self aggrandizement, sound bite soap sales. That You should actually use soap is an ironic coincidence. | ||

I've been told, off the record, that schools in Illinois are done for the year. I imagine that many states will do the same. In Michigan, we were told we were out until April 5th, conditionally. I wonder what will be done with all the kids that didn't finish that year of school? | ||

My wife was just talking to a friend back in IL. She's got a daughter who is scheduled to graduate college in 2020. School has closed early. No graduation ceremony. You'll get your diploma in the mail, despite not finishing classes. Respected college in Boston if it matters. Interesting times. I hope medical and engineering students don't get the same pass. | ||

Local funding was recently approved to try and temporarily house homeless people in CA in.. well, anywhere possible that can have reasonable social isolation between people. This is an attempt to limit spread of the virus but portions of the homeless population often do not want to be housed with other homeless people. City of Fresno declares a state of emergency "and suspends the Constitution" (my words). https://tinyurl.com/u6p3k9y This news story seems unreal. The city's definition of a disaster or emergency is also pretty broad and even covers "extraordinary air pollution". Let me get this straight, the air quality gets bad and they enforce a curfew, suspend ammunition and alcohol sales, put price controls in place, etc. I didn't get out of that hell-hole too soon. |
