The President spoke about quarantines at his presser last night - apparently preparations are being made, if locales need to be quarantined. Hopefully it won't come to that, if the travel bans hold. All the more reason to lock down the borders. | ||

Joe, your work depends on public interaction, as mine does. Looks like all these places that offer online ordering and easy pickup will do very well. Got a buddy who used to live in California. He says business in Chinatown type places is doing poorly... we may be watching the stock markets, but the real bottom lines, hard to say just yet. | ||

When "they" really are out to get you, it's not paranoia to be worried. But to return to topic. Soap works wonders. Wash for a seemingly forever whole minute, specifically leaving soapy suds on for a longer than you're used to. Using the paper towels to open the public bathroom door isn't weird, it's reasonable and rational. And wiping off the handle is courteous. At home, think to use a chlorox wipe on door knobs anyone actually uses. At some point IF this accelerates, it'll be time to keep kids home from school. The timing on that? If history shows the way, if the school administrators are accusatory and call you crazy and deranged? You might have good timing. If you wait until the Principal says you Should, it's too late. A buddy claims he read that there's a 3 / 5 death rate male/female. Which indicates it's engineered. But I don't know where that claim comes from. Anyone know? If those numbers are from Italy or the world outside China, then it's possible it's engineered but more likely the natural sex difference in mortality in those/our cultures. If from China, and honest, ( Not likely ) with a high male/female ratio population, then a 3/5 ratio may even mean it's deadlier to women. Statistics need context to be useful, and often the context is left out to lie with numbers. | ||

And I really think I shouldn't be cheering on fools who go to group events while spraying plague about when I dislike the group involved and prefer them destroyed. I should be just as angry at an Iranian government ego jerk contaminating Parliament as I would be if... Actually, the Congresscritters analogy is wrong since I dislike them... Good thing I don't care a bit about killing peasants with industrial and mining poisons ( or the customers who buy children's toothpaste sweetened with antifreeze ) so we can have our Party Leader's relatives pocket all the profits. ( safe working & living conditions are expensive! ) And that lets me dominate the world economy. Weee! But... Revolting Peasants. You can't keep 'em down on the farm, damnit. On one of my firearms forums, there's folks talking about storage foodstuffs (prepper-type, good for 25 years) and manufacturers who normally promise shipping measured in days, who are now saying "in 6 weeks...maybe?". Yea, see my earlier post. One site normally guarantees 2 day shipping; they’re currently up to 8 weeks on all orders. Every time I’ve checked the site over the past few days the delay has gone up one week. They say they started February with orders at 10X the normal volume and they’re currently at 100X normal volume. Pretty crazy. | ||

As a Vietnam Vet You can survive on Rice it's cheap and has long shelf life.Great with Butter salt and Pepper.Many ways to fix it too.  And CHEAP !!!!! Sacks of Flour , Yeast,dried beans many other things keep well also. & don,t forget SALT You can't live without it & spices. | ||
