Hey folks- I know several of youn's unfortunately have to deal with migraines. I never have personally, but knowing many people over the years who do, I can tell they suck mightily. Just ran across this story- weird, but hey. Why not get some green tinted glasses?
It's easy to hypothesize that effect is from our evolutionary roots as jungle dwellers. Harsh white light on Sun blasted brown veldt would be stressful as the environment was to a species that climbs trees to try and escape predators.
Of course, that could be completely wrong. Many predators climb better than we do. Better sight lines may invoke safety in a racial memory that itself is unproven, and quite possibly emo crap.
People are going to argue for years about this treatment and theories on it's mechanism.
I find that anti opiate experiment compelling that there is a physical, chemical response to light frequencies. But that shouldn't be controversial. It will be, because we're argumentative. U.S. Navy studies on submarines showed improvement in attention, fatigue, and emotional state by using paint. The subjects are in a pressurized metal tube with no visual contacts outside it for long periods of time. So a pretty good experimental isolation of color from other influences.
Bottom line, if it works, it works. And the risk of bad side effects is pretty low.
Naturally someone will have to do a study on that...
Phillip Stein watches with some kind of natural frequency mojo. As they say,"The unique Natural Frequency Technology® embedded inside them can help wearers feel less stressed and improve overall wellbeing on a daily basis."
My wife struggled to get sleep. She has been through lots of things trying to get that elusive sleep. I asked what she wanted for Christmas and she mentioned she had wanted a Phillip Stein watch for a while but didn't want to waste money on something that may not work. So, I got her one. A guy I had met in Alaska had endorsed them during a conversation. I just went ahead and ordered her one. Since a couple of days after she started wearing it she goes to bed and falls asleep quickly. She has only struggled on one night since and she had been with her mom who was sick that day and it was very stressful for her. She likes it so much she wants me to have one. The guy that told me about it was the guy that set me up to get the wildlife pictures I took in AK. Is it real? Is it a placebo? My wife is a hard one to trick into something. I'm happy either way. Results Matter.

During November and December, Al Capone’s soup kitchen kept regular hours, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thanksgiving Day 1930 was a particular public relations triumph for Capone. On that day he could boast that he fed more than 5,000 hungry men, women, and children with a hearty beef stew. The kitchen was demolished in the 1950s, but used to be located at the corner of 9th and State Street. .
That champagne trick is just badass! Wish they'd had a darker background for that. Now I gotta get a cheap bottle of bubbly and wait for a serious cold spell. Also got to get a good bottle of bubbly and some tasty caviar for New Year's...
