"Squids, Never did that crap. Not gonna start now.
Smokin' a doobie? Never done that crap? Dude. Have you had a proper dirty martini? Maybe a cinnamon toothpick? We, as humans, have a unique propensity to sample odd things. Heck, the koala bear lives off of eucalyptus leaves, which makes it high 100% of the time. And, they're not cuddly.
So what do you think of Pelosi's performance of her sworn duties?
G"
Meh.
Didja happen to read the OP??
OK, honest answer. Our political institutions, worldwide, are SNAFU. Maybe FUBAR. I hope for a respectable POTUS someday.
Media and money have F*(Ked this entire planet, whether you're a Donkey or an Elephant. Or a Honey Badger.
Oh, and I like Castrol, for oil, Pirelli Angels, for tires, but they wear wear out too fast. Bridgestone Batttlax tires do kick ass, had them on the 955 Triumph.
Why do we live this life? I try to chase down and claim the good, and give it to my brethren, my sisters. Those who only see A or B, R or D, need better glasses. If you wake and your first thought is who's your opponent, I say you aint living right.
Observe your opponents. Learn to make them friends. Talk. No need to fight until/unless given proof, ala minute.
Dialogue. Too many of us only receive monologue. Back and forth. We will lose society otherwise.

Indeed we do. Some even sample things like meth, heroin, crack cocaine and LSD. Your recent posts make you sound like you may have been sampling something...??
Pot isn't a requirement, but the occasional chill pill is. While it is poison, it allows us to see beyond the daily blinders we put on and we can see the changes we must make but which we have difficulty facing directly.
Sampling my morning cuppa Joe, fresh ground French roast, yum.
Damn near outta KB, NBD. Tried LSD decades ago, 1\2 square only. Kinda fun, meh. Never had interest in the other stuff you've mentioned, Greg. The best high I get is from my sweet M's love, my dawgies, and my friends. Beer me after yardwork, or a good MC ride.
One of my dear aunts was fighting cancer. Her doctor had prescribed Marinol, basically a horse pill of THC. She hated it- said it helped, but just shut her down otherwise. Smoking pot allows for moderation of dosage... but that's not legal in TN, even today.
Arrangements were made to improve her regimen. Alas, the big C eventually took her, but a bit of kind bud helped her in the fight.
Poison? Heck, we've been eating too much pork lately. Almoist to the end of my homegrown 'maters, I'll be depressed with no BLT's soon. On the upside, we started a big batch of chili last nite for tonite's dinner, with homemade chili starter and fresh veggies. Life is good.
Dang it, RD - I was trying to start an argument... there's usually no better way on a moto-forum than stating something crazy like "brand X is the best oil - tires - brakes".
I need some great Mexican food.
Outside of la cocina de mi abuela, the best Mexican food can be found at Tacqueria la Mexicana #2 in Long Beach California. 4th street just West of Redondo Ave.
A cynic would think the authorities were trying to raise the price of a product they sell.
Ok... I grabbed this directly from the article... you can't make this stuff up.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), initiated a joint investigation.
Only a few sammiches worth left here too. It's not why do we live this life. Rather how do we live this life. Some run around like alarm clocks trying to wake everyone up, or like the pet dog that just knows you want to know about that squirrel. I try and let sleeping dogs sleep. That dog may just be warning the squirrel not me. Too much noise and we miss the song. Life is a balancing act. If we are busy moving weights all the time, we will miss the pleasure of laying in a hammock swaying in the breeze under the trees. The biggest problems we have are inside our own minds. We want, but don't need. We are busy about nothing. We worry about paying bills instead of figuring out how to not cause the bills. Did I say we want but don't need. We can walk to the next town over in a day, but instead rack up enough cost in transportation that we work a week or more to cover the expense of it. Our houses are huge in comparison to the space we need for dwelling. Then we work months to pay the upkeep on a place we are away from while we are coming up with the payments. If we just stopped and took in the blessings in our midst, what price would we incur. My wife had a job years ago. I bought her a car, insurance, taxes, fuel, maintenance, and a new one to replace the worn out one every few years because it got worn out taking her all the miles to and from work. She did not make enough to cover just the price of the vehicle and would not understand the economics of the situation. She could only feel the emotions and I could only pay the cost year after year. You can call your deities what you want. I have "Jesus" and credit Him with the good in my life. I give satan more credit that he is due. I often blame him for my mistakes. They are "My" mistakes. My mistakes happen when I try to out-think everything. If I allow politics to be who I am, I become politics and miss out on people. Political things are not as diametrically opposed as we want to believe. Auto sale places want to sell you 3 versions of an extended warranty. They don't care which one you buy as long as you buy one. I go in and refuse to buy any! They make you think you made the right choice when the real choice was not presented to you. Don't be blinded by choosing the lesser defecation when your correct choice may not be out on the table. Education is how you keep a system like China has in existence for so long. Americans are not stupid, they are ignorant. Sometimes I yack political. It is because I'm at the go-kart track but still want to race a little. I'd rather be in the Mohave with a dirt bike. But here we are.

Every once in a while I (Oh, My Goodness!) will check out a thread that has a political bent. I know I am going into that environment because the "Subject:" declares the thread's topic or the purported reason for the people being there. However, Brothers and Sisters, There are threads that appear by subject heading to be devoid of POLITICAL MALE BOVINE DEFECATION. On days when my blood pressure is elevated I tend to head to the topics that are not a stench unto the blood pressure god's nostrils. As of the following couple of weeks there has been a small number of Buell Brethren that believe that all the politicalization (look a big word) they are at liberty to partake in in "Subject: Political" threads. is OK in threads that have traditionally been NON-political. If every topic is seen by some to be a political dichotomy, I know you are not that dumb. Please, have a little respect and class. Thank you.
I agree with Ourdee, and would like to add my $0.02:
Religion, politics, and non-family friendly discussions should be quarantined in a member-only subforum. You know, like the Backfire Board.
The Quick board is visible to anyone who stumbles upon Badweb (member or not). It could (and should) be a welcoming place to the diverse, global population of Buell enthusiasts, with its many interesting threads about electronics, motorcycles, autos, construction, health matters, music, food, etc.
Have a look at ADV Rider: There is the members-only CSM (Church, State and Money) subforum. If folks want to discuss politics, religion, or other seriously contentious topics, that is where it takes place.

(Subject:________) tells you what bent the thread is supposed to be. We don't need to hide our forum from the public. BackFire is for threads that go off the rails. We may not be proud of them, but they are still family. So, we put them where they can still be visited with out peeing on the living room floor. Kind of like an asylum (:an institution offering shelter and support to people who are mentally ill) or an old folks home.

Have a look at ADV Rider: I have. There are some uptight people over there. I felt like Rodney Dangerfield (another RD) in a posh country club. "But Hey, It looks good on you!"
Points taken. Sorry if I came across as uptight or whatever - my post wasn't intended to compare members or content of this board to other boards.
If I'm not mistaken, Ourdee's encouraging folks to make clear their subject category in the title, and to not cross-contaminate threads by bringing politics into non-political threads. I'm suggesting we have more subcategories for thread subjects to achieve the same goal.
Having one forum category as a catchall for *all* non Buell related topics is like having a house with no door on the bathroom. One might ask Grandpa to let us all know us when he's on the shitter, so we don't walk in (unless we choose to). I'm saying "hey - why don't we have an outhouse in the back yard? It's a bit more work to get to, but it's less obtrusive." But honestly, I'd be just as happy with a marked bathroom door and an exhaust fan!
I'm suggesting we have more subcategories for thread subjects to achieve the same goal.
I get where you're coming from, but I'll assert that each thread becomes it's own subforum... I mean, look at some of these post counts.
I've given ADV a shot on several occasions, but there's just too damned much going on for me to pay attention to any of it.
Of all the forums I have bookmarked, I really only come to BadWeB every day. I will search the others when I need a piece of information... but honestly if I have a question about my KLR or my Spyder I'll usually post it here first because there's more knowledge in this place than most all the others combined.
I've become friends with a few people from one of the Spyder forums, but since meeting them in person I pretty much just text back and forth with them.
