Every once in a while I (Oh, My Goodness!) will check out a thread that has a political bent. I know I am going into that environment because the "Subject:" declares the thread's topic or the purported reason for the people being there. However, Brothers and Sisters, There are threads that appear by subject heading to be devoid of POLITICAL MALE BOVINE DEFECATION. On days when my blood pressure is elevated I tend to head to the topics that are not a stench unto the blood pressure god's nostrils. As of the following couple of weeks there has been a small number of Buell Brethren that believe that all the politicalization (look a big word) they are at liberty to partake in in "Subject: Political" threads. is OK in threads that have traditionally been NON-political. If every topic is seen by some to be a political dichotomy, I know you are not that dumb. Please, have a little respect and class. Thank you.
When I get a good belch ready, I like to say his name. Beer me.
RD, I'm with ya +1000. A couple of years ago someone here posted up a video from Black Rifle Coffee, two/three dudes on a shooting range hitting targets that were tuned to the musical scale. They were wearing the most hideous Christmas sweaters, shooting targets so to play Christmas music. One guy had a sweater that had a female Sasquatch wearing a Christmas hat and bikini. So, naturally I HAD to track down that sweater on Amazon and get my very own. (FWIW, the video is AWESOME. They have many other awesome vids as well. All should see them. Still want the other guy's sweater.)
One evening I stopped in a local bar wearing the sweater and an elf's hat. I know the owner and several regulars there. As I walked up to him, the owner looked at me and said- "Is that Michelle Obama?"
Very rarely am I rendered speechless. I just got one beer and left. I'm at a loss to understand how some people just HAVE to filter the whole of their consciousness through a political lens. It's both fascinating, and sad.
But Ourdee is right. I've been known to check out the political threads on occasion and expressed my views, but there are some threads that shouldn't be tainted by political bullsh*t. Not everybody here is totally obsessed with politics 100% of the time.
I know I run Pirellis with a passion. And I'll dig in deeper next tire change with Rossos. But there are people that don't see anything wrong with putting a pair of Dunlops on a Buell (may they rot in Hades).
Michelins may work OK on a Kawasaki, but it probably wouldn't have slid in the corner in Suches if it had a pirelli and wasn't peein' Mobil One on it. You should get a Sportster if you want to be fast.
Elephant defecation if far more likely to overwhelm ones sensibilities than a humble Donkey. lol}
Bovine are not donkeys.
For Buells, there is no better oil than Harley's Syn 3 and the Formula + goes in the primary.
For all other bikes and cars, Mobil 1 is the best.
Michelin makes the best tires for bikes, BFG are the best for cars.
I've had Dunlop 616's and they were OK. I used to run Dunlop K491's on my '76 Honda CB750F1 because I was young and dumb... but that bike cornered for shit anyway, and I got a lot of miles out of them.
I think the whole thing with Mobil 1 eating stators was a bunch of hooey. My bike ate 3 stators in a row with Harley oil.
For Buells, there is no better oil than Harley's Syn 3 and the Formula + goes in the primary.
Donkeys are from the Equidae family. I think there are eight varieties of pure donkeys.
Truth be told: Syn 3 and Formula + is what resides in Lil Red at the moment.
For all other bikes and cars, Mobil 1 is the best.
I have had good luck with Mobil 1 till I started Driving the new Jeep renegades. Mobil 1 does not meet Chrysler standard MS-6395 with their 0W-20 synthetic. So, I am running Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic SAE 0W-20.
Michelin makes the best tires for bikes, BFG are the best for cars.
Mich are fine shoes, I just love the Rossos on a Buell. BFG A/T are the best snow tires ever.
I agree with you Ourdee. I'm a politically opinionated MFer, but damn, sometimes I just want to read and engage in a fun, interesting, non political, no Opra meme, light hearted thread.
Of the big 4, Yamaha whoops the rest. There's a reason their logo is 3 tuning forks. Over the years I've seen so many great bikes, great innovative technologies, from this company. Still miss my FZ700, and my RZ350, especially. My best buddy had a '77, 78 XS750 triple, with a Kerker header. Best sounding thing on 2 wheels, until I got my Triumph. All the folks at Hooter's bike nite snapped their heads around to look at this old Yammie as he warmed things up... then a proper burnout.
Grew up a Suzuki kid, learned early that Honda cheaps things out. When they did the ACE I just laughed.
John- I was too flummoxed to laugh. I just looked at him. I walked in the bar expecting to give folks a good laugh. Totally shot my expectations. Had a decent beer, ruminating.
