Well, call me crazy but... I got back on two wheels today. Took the Zero out to lunch and to the bank, total of three miles. Since there is no shifter I didn't have to do much with the left leg other than put it on the footpeg which was easy enough. I only had one problem. I may not have the immobilizer on my leg anymore, but it is still wrapped up in bandages. Fortunately, the Aerostich Combat Lite boots were able to accommodate the extra width on my left leg! |

So you're no longer all screwed-up? Sounds like a good deal. Amazing X-ray. Neat to see. Horrific to think about! LOL! |

I'll probably have a new X-Ray this Tuesday. I'll see if I can get a copy. The top of the tibia is fully healed, but I'm curious if the holes left by the screw removal are visible. |

Hot off the presses. Yes, you can see the holes...

Definitely still sore, but not enough to take anything stronger than ibuprofen. Mostly, it's the skin healing; especially since he just removed the sutures this morning. |

They played an ocarina in Wild Thing... The Animals, I think. |

Well you can imagine everyone around me is relieved that I'll finally be able to take a shower this weekend! "Sponge Baths" by the sink isn't the best way to stay clean. I did manage one shower this past weekend after I wrapped my leg in plastic to keep it from getting wet but that takes way too much time in the morning when I have to go to work... Mostly, it's my hair that has gotten pretty gnarly. Good thing it's COLD and I'm not sweating much or it could be far worse. If something like this ever happens again, I'll have to be sure to have one of these things on hand but it's too late to order one now. |

When I was laid up with my ankle, I had a heavy duty plastic bag with an elastic band that was over 2 inches wide that sealed against my thigh that kept my leg dry when I showered. However, today is Friday and the weekend is tomorrow! Enjoy your first post surgery shower to the max! |

Zac,Wild Thing - I think the Troggs (not positive). Knowing they played an ocarina is a pretty obscure piece of trivia - I’m impressed. Sorry for the off-topic post... |

You’re right, the Troggs. Knew that the Animals didn’t sound right. I only have one piece of medical metal in me, SS plate screwed to C4-C6. I have to have a turtleneck or neck gaiter when I’m in 20 degree or colder or I get a brain-freeze. Z |
