That's one crazy looking contraption... |

It's an XB12R engine, forks, brake rotor and a few other bits. I think it was for the chopper build off TV show. |

They did say what the wheels are, and I posted it above - polycarbonate. The Buell chopper is also featured on their build page - that's a stock ZTL rotor on a custom 21" front wheel. Amazing how small that wheel makes it look! |

I really enjoyed Crusty’s stories and photos in this thread (and everyone else’s). I was wishing I could add a post with early photos - but I have so few. But,,, last month a old friend that I rode with in high school visited - and gave some photos to me. I won’t go into the different bikes I had, but now I at least have photos of the first - and the current. The Harley Servi-car (45 c.i.) was completely stock when I bought it. The photos were taken a year later (I’m 15 in the photo). Yes, it’s crude, but custom parts were scarce in the 60s and even more scarce in North Dakota —- and I was 14 when I built it. The other photos are my current riding group (that are licensed and insured). Still having a lot of fun..

Hell's Bells- is that first bike an old XLCR? Jealous of that garage, buddy! That Servicar is frickin kewl. |

Squids - Thanks, and yes, a low mileage XLCR (with the original tires). |

Roger, Can you give the rundown on what appears to be a Firebolt XB12R beside the XB12X? You know the one with the gorgeous exhaust headers. |

Dude... Screamer... that trike is straight out of the Groovy Ghoulies... Super awesome. You must have gotten all kinds of laid riding that thing past the high school. |

But, for some strange reason, I feel a strong draw to a Royal Enfield Interceptor.

I was all hot to build a cafe Sporty, but then I remembered that my XB12S stops, handles, and makes more power reliably than most any Sporty ever could. |

Yeah; but you can't buy a 2020 XB12S; now can you? |

Crusty I recall a review of the RE where the writer stated it "out triumphed the Triumph". I too like the look. I wish my wife would get back on a ride of her own, so I could justify trying to coax her onto one. |

That Aston Martin/ Brough Superior is pretty and interesting; but if I were looking for a track only, expensive purchase, I think I'd have to go for an EBR 1190RS dressed in Carbon. |

Maybe a 2020 1190 SX LOW? |

The bike I'd love to have would be an 1190 Red Lightning. I don't think I'll ever have the cash to buy or build one, though. It would sure make one hell of a Sport-Tourer. |

RD - you asked about the XB, Sorry for the delay in responding. I bought it with a “rod knocking” and rebuilt it in 2009. It’s a 2004 12R with a 2006 engine and swingarm. The drivetrain is pretty stock except for minor changes - Ti-Force exhaust, K&N filter, modified air box and custom tune. I’ve dyno’d it a few times and the rwhp is not that much over stock but it’s one the nicest running - best behaved motors I’ve had. Cosmetics - I switched red bodywork for black and added a lot of carbon fiber pieces. I painted the wheels black and pinstriped them. 1125cr forks and caliper are going on this winter. The best change I’ve made is building a set of bars and using a set of adjustable Rox (?) risers. I started riding the bike a lot more this summer - and after some tweaks, the riding position is the best of any bike I have. The bike is absolutely wonderful for the roads around here.

My neighbor back in California had the Ti-Force exhaust on his 2005 XBR. In fact, we decided to buy that house because when we were house shopping he had his garage open and I could see his XBR and his S3T in there. And the parcel was number 39 which just told me we had to get it. But anyway that Ti-Force was the bees knees... best sounding and looking exhaust I've ever heard or seen on these bikes. |

I was at Screamer's house one HomeComing. I sat on the ground beside that bike and stared at the headers for a while. Screamer, Thank you for the run down. That corner is a little flat. |

That corner looks a lot like where I lowsided my wife's Sporty some years back, right off the side of the hill. |

Reading the comments to Aesquire's 9gag (above) most are saying "it was cut," but, looking at the obvious lack of regular maintenance, there's been no lube anywhere near that cable, much less the lever pivot points and cable-end ferrules. The ferrule seized in the lever, and the cable bent back and forth where it's exposed, rather than sliding in and out of the sheath.
