Just shipped the second of two priority head-sets. I'm too old for this stress... decided to take a "ME" day.
Picked up a Sioux valve machine a few days ago, free and delivered. Spinning stone cuts a perfect seal face on a spinning valve. Go to the other side and cut a fresh face on the rocker end.
Came from a Toyota dealership and had 30 years of grease-cake. Went to the shop with my pressure washer and some Purple caustic cleaner and the machine is grey, not black....
Great, more hail. Had to sit in the Buick for a few minutes, hail got up to an inch and pretty hard. not slush balls... Yay Colorado.
I search the web for a band. I get these (Reaction) Youtube videos, where folk watch a YouTube video and comment on it. On their YouTube video. It's incredibly meta.
So I see this guy, black, young, and he's going to hear Tom Sawyer for the first time. Ok, that's entertainment.
The format, now that I've seen a few, has the person pausing the video to interject, which I understand is a way to avoid people just changing videos after they watch the video & blowing you off, which will happen if you save your comments to the end.
The interruption annoys me, which I realized might be generational, with the style of internet speed dating your attention media. So I'm trying to hang, trying it out...
And I think this is a shallow mine of comedy? compared to stand up & TV. And not everyone is trying to be funny. And I fear my amusement at their earnestness is sick humor.
But! There are some...(voice coach watches Disturbed cover of Sound Of Silence for the first time ) or a 26 year old guy who doesn't know who Tom Sawyer is " a writer, right? " But is blown away by the technical expertise and "there's no way that's just 3 dudes! Those guys are music nerds, man!"
and I'm grooving on his journey. He's blown away by the lyrics, he keeps hearing beats he realizes are sampled by others, and is astounded by the original.
Ok, we are layers of meta already, and this is the next one...
I got blown away by a comedian I've never seen, first, on his "show"...
I'll skip the comment. No need to go 2 more layers of meta.
Not safe for work or children of any age. Not pc. Sex. IDeas. Offensive!
So, I'm supposed to take your comments on their comments more, or less seriously?
If you can't laugh, I'm sorry, this whole idea is funny. And, yes, I laugh at the self importance too.
Sorry to set off your too much queer pressure alarm. Didn't know that was in the content I was pimping. I just ignore the sexuality of people until they shove it in my face. I do occasionally notice someone has great taste, and assume he's gay, if he's white.
And I've had the attitude for a long time, if you don't like gay sex, don't have gay sex. Easy enough if you are as ugly as I am and no one asks.
But there's a lot to learn in life.
I was highly amused at a young guy learning that those old rock dudes had such great & deep thoughts. ( I haven't seen a reaction to Walk Like An Egyptian, yet. ) And if you are talking Led Zeppelin and their Lord of the Rings inspired stuff, and Jethro Tull's best, and Moody Blues darn near everything... I thought it was deep when I heard it half a century ago. That's the days when my parents were yelling about the noise ( they listened to Perry Como & 1001 Strings ) while I was trying to tell them how important the music was. We were both right, as I found out when hip hop & Flock of Seagulls kicked in.
