Glitch!!! Yay you, an R100RS?? Talk about a killer barn find! Get that sweet thing going, I'll roll down and ride with ya!! Post up as you learn and revive that thing.
I used to be into old ricers, when they hired me to be the Buell guy here locally. So weird to have more than 20 H-D nomenclatures, I had to learn quick. Alphabet soup...
I know of a guy in the area that had (maybe still has) a full sized stuffed camel. Part of his Christmas manger scene. Did a really nice job along with other Christmas scenes around the house. Used to see his display on the national morning news shows quite a bit. Unfortunately, he stopped doing it because of vandals. Just a few bad apples ruin it for everybody.
I agree...something is different. I (as a non-musician) think it has something to do with their chord progressions. Given their long-standing musical history (compared to the USA), I think they're just slightly more "musical", where American rock and metal are based a little more on discord, and jarring changes.
Either that, or it's just our electrical differences from the USA's 60Hz 120v electrical cycle, to the European....whatever it is.
And that's not a joke - I do believe that the base electricity can affect the audio character.
The only thing I know about Euro power is you can run twice as many lights on the same sized circuit breaker, and their connectors and breaker boxes are funny. BUT, it DOES make sense to have a breaker box built out of an insulator (plastic) instead of a conductor (Square D or whatever). Had to wire in some German 220v stuff onto an American 220V circuit in Afghanistan. I've listened to a lot of European music (including a ton of metal) and if I had to describe what differentiates German metal and other genres - the chord progressions and melodies are usually safer, more conservative, smaller, easier, quieter, not as bold. In contrast, the overall production sound is generally very bright. Like, if you can picture them singing with a big cheesy smile the whole time, creating a very bright tone. Hootowl that sounds good. Cover video is funny When you said Swedish metal in German, I instantly thought of Amon Amarth (SE) and their own cover of their own song Victorious March, Siegreicher Marsch (DE).
Just disregard the part about burning churches and raping... freaking heathens. While Catholicism brought many evil things to "pagan lands", it also brought some good things (which it stole from Christianity). If you're a Catholic (or a Pagan, Patrick!), I undoubtedly offended you. To quote Patrick/Aesquire, if I haven't offended you yet, please be patient, I'll get to you soon.
If you want pure Norwegian metal, check out Extol... their early stuff - Undeceived, Mesmerized EP, and Burial, in that order. Freaking brilliant song-writing (if you like METAL!), Brutal, yet shining with brightness, by 20-year old kids!! Do not listen to their later stuff or you will be disappointed. I HATE it when bands sell out and go with the "main stream" sound. GFYS.
listen with a good subwoofer system I have a pretty good stereo system with a good pair of subs in my truck, but nothing I've heard can beat my Audio Technica studio headphones (thank you Sweetwater!) Going from a stereo system to a good set of studio headphones is like going from 640x480 to 4k 120FPS! You'll never listen music the same way!
