I purchase a HMF slip on from a Ebay on June 6, got it about a week later, a little over 1000 miles later, the weld cracked and failed on the mounting bracket that was welded to the pipe. Side note, when I got the pipe and looked at the weld, it looked like the weld was overheated, I was correct. So I called FMF, did what they asked for, sending them photos of everything. Their very inconvenient warranty policy is something like this," FmF policy, is that the customer ship the item to us for repair .it takes no longer then 5 business days for us to repair and send back." In the profession that I am in, the typical policy is this. Once a part is determined to be a warranty replacement, they send out the new part with a return label and charge your credit card for the cost of the part, you get 30 days to return the defective part. What I have found, is there are enough people that DO NOT send back the part, that you can break even or make money. Well, what I ended up doing was to getting it welded locally, (which voids any remaining warranty on the pipe) per FMF. Lets just say that I will not be buying any FMF products. BTW after talking to other riders with the same pipe, they too have had issues with that weld.

William,
Why does the pipe in your profile picture look like that?

The FMF pipe I am talking about is for my XR650L, not the 1125R. The reason my exhaust looks like that is, I bottom out(California roads suck) and hit the muffler and had to have it repaired. So I sandblasted it, and repaint it. The high temp paint I used was not high temp enough. I painted it with the correct paint and all was okay, until I bottomed out again! I no longer have the Drummer on the bike. I put a Barker on it and have not bottomed out since! Anyone want a used Drummer for $300. It is damaged but repairable.
