Plans are in full blown “gonna have friends here” mode! (Rested this past weekend at Carlyle Lake. Took the camper and little bikes and had lots of fun.) All we have to do is mow the yard, make the beds and do some food prep! Is it Friday yet???? | ||

Just heard from my mechanic, he's done- bye bye $450. Last item is having a Beemer buddy put an earball on the tranny- my wrench says it's making a bit more noise than it should. Need to double check my finances, had some unexpected expenses lately... C'mon, Vern!! | ||

My clutch parts arrived! I've got the fiber plates soaking in Formula + right now. In a little while, I'll go down to the garage and put it all together. Brad; I hope Vern decides to make it and brings you along! It won't seem right without you. | ||

Dammit if I didn't JUST plant my garden today, and here in Mur-vil the brilliant, brainiac, awesome weather personalities on two channels locally said we're hitting mid 90's tomorrow and the next day. RD, we're doing great with the herb garden, but all the seedlings started SLOOOW. Got some new seed varieties from Baker Creek Heirlooms, can't wait to see how they turn out! Some critter took one of my baby dwarf mulberry seedlings, grrrr! Back OT- studying my routes, hoping to skip most of the superslab, but it looks like I'll be on it in/out of Lexington. Secondaries hopefully should be better roads, they'll add about 2 hours to my ride. Crusticle, please advise if you can. Everyone, be mindful that (a) it's Memorial Day weekend, (b) my sweetie said potholes on the highway were nightmarish. | ||

The secondaries north of Knoxvegas through Cumberland Gap are nice, haven't been that way in some time... might make that the first leg into KY. And yeah, I'd like to make time Thursday, beat the holiday traffic. Just tried to install Waze onto my phone, no worky. Opinions on alternate navigation apps? Earbuds for voice prompts? I'm sure Google Maps would help, I just want the best option. | ||

Google maps is the best option - you can control it by voice, even while it's navigating. You can change the settings like this: "Hey Google, avoid highways" "Hey Google, stop avoiding highways" "Hey Google, find me something to eat" "Hey Google, find me a WalMart" You can be creative with it... telling Google to "Find me something" while navigating will find locations generally along your route, then you pick by tapping the screen icon if there's more than 1 | ||

Crusticle- yeah, that meme's accurate. Dang. Hopefully I'll catch up with all youn's in October, gotta find the proper gearbox now. Oh well. I've adjusted my mind and plans... got lots of things to do around here for my "staycation". Probably about 6 days total off work, which is fine- my work gets REAL slow around Memorial Day. New grips installed. Air filter cleaned and oiled. Test ride completed. Now all I have to do is pack. John, I'm going to have lunch with my wife tomorrow and then head your way. I may take some twisty back roads but that shouldn't slow me down much. With gas stops I should make Cheviot by 5:00 or 6:00. | ||
