Was there last week. Super Dog - best Chicago style hot dog per my host. Has Lou Malnati's pizza, really good! Also art at the top of the Hancock. Great view, nice meal!
The question isn't "what are we going to do"...the question is, "what AREN'T we going to do".
That's true. If you like what Cities offer, Chicago offers some good stuff. The Science and Industry Museum is top notch, as is the Art Museum. Which ever suits you. The Billy Goat Tavern can be fun when you are up for food served by surly people. Lot's of good ethnic food. The Sears Tower on a clear day offers a spectacular view, but it does have a different name now. Lots of great architecture to see.
Personally, I prefer to be out in the woods someplace. Pick your poison!
Chicago style dogs are NOT served with ketchup, they're served with yellow mustard (unlike NY dogs served with brown mustard). They are also smothered in all kind of things no New Yorker would ever consider. Oddly, it all works, but you will likely get a lot of it on your shirt no matter how hard you try.
I've come to the conclusion that there are parts of the country where "Tomato sauce = Ketchup." Thankfully, that does NOT apply to Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza.
Froggy, Rockford, Illinois. Maciano's Pizza & Pastaria. The pizza is good. i've never had a bad experience with them. I liked dining in or ordering for delivery. I don't think they are in the windy city.
One more thing, Froggy! As a fellow New Yorker, I know you'll find this difficult to accept BUT: It is perfectly okay to eat a Chicago Pizza with a knife and fork...
