One constant within this Buell brother/sisterhood is the things we will do to help one another. We have a network, whether closely knit or loose, where we can ask for and receive help. This is unique. I just want to thank several folks. You know who you are. Sometimes the world turns only by virtue of those with volition, and a bit of give a damn. Today, in particular, thanks Vern. |

You'll get absolutely no argument from me. My brother is still amazed at the lengths Badweb went for me when the Roadster's engine died. This place and the people who inhabit it are truly, "Different in every sense". |

I've been a part of many different moto communities during my long life but us Buellers are the epitome of "community", by far. Just like real family, there have been spats between members, but we all do rally together when it gets serious. ...The best bunch of A-holes I've ever met... |

What is wrong with us, continuing to associate with a group that accepts us? It's a bit disconcerting. |

Interesting timing . . . . I am in the midst of a pretty special, and very emotional, S2 project here at the undisclosed location. First this thread . . . then Don Casto makes and appearance. The Top Secret IT guy **may** be in the house over the weekend. . . . Life is good. |

Hey Court- I took care of a few people last night who said they knew a guy named Lars- they said he was one of the early folks getting the Buell MC going. Landers? They said he was a big guy, 6'2 or better, had a bad get-off which crippled his left foot. |

I can't think of any other motorcycle brand that has this kind of close knit "society." The old days of BMW airheads comes close. The new generation of BMW riders will never understand that kind of closeness and unfortunately they are taking over while the older generation passes on. Just this last weekend I was attending an "Airhead Tech Day" hosted by my friends in Danielsville, PA. Since the dealerships no longer want to work on these old bikes, these "Tech Days" are invaluable to the guys who want to keep their beloved airheads running. The guy who ran this particular event is the one who bought my old R100RT back in 2000, which allowed me to buy my first Buell (the M2 Cyclone). He still has the R100RT and, though he doesn't ride it nearly as much as I used to, he finally has more miles on it than I did when I sold it to him. Only took him 19 years! Hope I see some of you people again this year. It's always fun. |

Correct, Brankin. My mind/memory was rattled a bit after a hella-chaotic shift. |

Many years ago I was in a Harley shop in California when a guy come in riding a 68 FL Police bike that was beautiful. He walked up to the service guy and needed something done. I heard the service guy say,"What year? We won't work on that, this is modern shop, not a restoration shop!" I couldn't believe my ears. I was going to buy a T-shirt from there but instead I just walked out. Now I see BMW is the same way. I mean how hard is it to fix the older bikes, they're so simple compared to new ones! Makes no sense. As far as our Buells, since we don't have any shop to go to it's nice to have this website and people willing to help a brother out! I know I'm thankful for it! |
